Beautiful campground with friendly staff. This KOA is very clean and well manicured. Spacious sites with full hookups and plenty of restrooms, showers and on site laundry. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays you can hop on the wagon ride to get an in depth tour of the Oakland plantation and grounds, with lots of history and beauty. The KOA offers tons of activities for the whole family to enjoy, from planned activities hosted by the staff, to bike rentals, nature trails, kayaking, pattle boats and much more. They offer on site propane filling and it's conveniently located within walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

Last summer, my sister and brother-in-law planned a trip to Mount Pleasant and booked a stay at the KOA campground—specifically, the caboose right off the pond. Since my eldest son is obsessed with trains, staying in a real caboose was an absolute dream come true for him. The location was perfect, just about ten minutes from Sullivan’s Island. You can fish right in front of the caboose, and there’s a fire pit with plenty of seating, plus a spacious porch with a table and chairs—great for relaxing in the evenings. The caboose even has a powder room in the back, which was super convenient. Guests also have access to all the campground amenities, including a pool, spray pad, basketball court, bathhouse with laundry facilities, and a clubhouse that hosts activities throughout the week. You can also rent paddle boats and canoes to enjoy time out on the pond. As an added bonus, there’s a fun arcade right before you pull into the campground, which was perfect for rainy or bad-weather days. If you’re Catholic, there is also the beautiful St. Benedict Church nearby, which made attending Mass during our stay easy and meaningful. It was such a unique and family-friendly experience, and one we’ll always remember.

Best KOA in the USA, and we have stayed at tons of them! Amazing friendly staff, great communication before arrival & easy check in. Great selection in onsite store. Super clean showers and bathrooms. Long & large campsites with full hook ups. Great hike path in woods behind campground. And the massively huge Kamp K9 (dog park) is the best of any KOA we have ever stayed at! Part of dog park is even a fenced in shallow lake for dogs to get to swim! Highly recommend! We will keep coming back!

Very clean, friendly staff, site was very level. Park was clean and well taken care of. Lots of things for kids to do and a beautiful lake. Dog park is a good size for those with furr babies. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. They gave us great tips on places to eat. If you’re in the area Pages Okra is a must for a meal.

This KOA completely rebranded my childhood memories of what a KOA can be and exceeded every expectation! Even though we were a late-night check-in, the process was a breeze. The staff greeted us warmly and personally escorted us to our site. That kind of service really set the tone for our whole stay. The campground is beautiful, immaculately clean, and well-maintained throughout. Our site was generous in size, level, and the hookups were a breeze, and good WiFi service. The beautiful setting made it feel like a true retreat, with trees and swings lining the lake. Perfect for relaxing, reading, strolling, jogging, and bike riding while still very close to local amenities like shopping, dining, car rental, fuel, and quick access to Charleston. There's something for everyone here. The lake is stocked with fish for catch and release, and there are water bikes and canoes. Other amenities include biking, a playground, pool, and rec center packed with games! The showers and restrooms were spotless, and the on-site store had everything we needed. Traveling with our dog was no problem thanks to the pet-friendly policy. Can't say enough good things about this place. The staff, the amenities, the atmosphere—all top-notch. We'll absolutely be back!

Very nice campground, friendly staff and plenty of space to walk the dog. Pizza can be ordered on site , reasonably priced and very good. We had a lakeside site with a very pretty view. However the geese factor was a real negative. Very loud, messy and had to chase them from the site constantly. Made it unpleasant especially with a dog. Would not recommend site 14. Definitely be back but not on that site. Campground needs to control the geese!

My family stayed in a Deluxe Cabin for 4 days and wish we could have stayed longer. The atmosphere for the park is set immediately upon entering... spacious entrance and park, great signage, and friendly staff all welcome you to this terrific campground. The family that owns this KOA and their staff genuinely care and create a great experience. The beautiful grounds, the incredible lake and nature trail, fishing, Hunt Brothers Pizza, pool and splash pad, and clean & spacious cabin all help to create a memorable experience. You feel like you are camping out in the woods, surrounded by lush landscape, but have the convenience of dinning, shopping, and entertainment only a block away. Awesome location.

Very nice campground with a scenic lake. The area is nice with a shopping plaza containing a Walmart and other necessities close by - easily within biking distance. The service is friendly and I haven't used campground showers any better than theirs. Clean, hot, and with good pressure. My only knock would be the relative lack of privacy at the sites.

Beautiful and quiet campground. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Kudos to Will for the great tour of on site plantation! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Regular WiFi worked well for streaming. Nice pool even though we didn’t use it. Bathrooms and around the property were very clean! Nice lake on the property. Would highly recommend staying here!

We enjoyed our short stay over the 4th of July holiday. The fireworks show was better than we expected, lasting about 15 minutes! We loved it! The campground was hopping, plenty of activities happening all day and something for everyone. The free hotdog dinner on the 4th was great with friendly staff serving. We enjoyed biking the trail that ran behind the campground, the paddleboat in the lake, the fun park(putt putt +arcade) within walking distance and the swings located around the lake. Spaces are fairly close together, but this is the case at any KOA we have visited. Though it was at full capacity, it was still pretty easy to find a peaceful spot to relax away from the crowds.

Price per night was too high for me. A few years later I got to stay and enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Might get to stay here once a year. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star is because they where going to charge 5$ each for 2 kids and 10$ each for 2 adults just to visit for a couple of hours. MT. Pleasant/Charleston is pricey; it would help to go a little easier on middle-class families. Always read brochure on rules before going.

Did not stay here this time, but drove through. It was a very nice place. The attendants were very helpful. Seems very well maintained. Spots are mostly pull through, and most have full hookup - always a plus. A good many stores are very close by. Not on the ocean, but just a short drive. A pretty short drive to downtown and other areas attractions. Will be planning a trip to stay here.

We have been to many KOA’s with our young children and I promise I will never come back to this one. This is more of an RV park for people that don’t actually like to camp. We were unable to put up a tent on our huge sight, because “if we did it then everyone else would want to” is what he said. We had our parents with us, planning on using the tent, so we went to office and the tent spots they wanted to put us in are over a walking bridge you can’t drive to unpack your stuff, no water/electric and were $50 a night with a two night minimum- I know is not entirely unheard of but I wasn’t going to pay for it. Woman in office said she has worked for KOA for 10 years and has never been able to put tents up on camper sights. I told her we always do but wasn’t going to argue with her. We saw nobody using amenities, no kids riding bikes, in the pool or playing. Nobody having fires or even sitting outside. And the workers drive by every few minutes, made us feel like we were being watched. We stayed 3 nights. But the beach, restaurants nearby and wildlife were cool. Snakes, frogs, cranes, deer, turkey, and more that come so close. That’s why it gets a star.

We came down from New Hampshire and found the KOA to be a perfect fit for our trip. Cabin was clean and good sized for three adults. Joyce at the office was super helpful getting us switched over from one cabin to another to lengthen our stay. We will be back!
