Myers Lake Camping & Cabins

Overview

Myers Lake Camping & Cabins provides a peaceful retreat tucked away in the heart of Mid-Michigan. This family-oriented destination centers around a beautiful private spring-fed lake, offering travelers a chance to reconnect with nature without the bustle of larger commercial resorts. Whether you are arriving in a large motorhome or looking for a cozy cabin stay, the park maintains a welcoming atmosphere that emphasizes relaxation and traditional outdoor fun. Its combination of natural beauty and well-maintained facilities makes it a standout choice for those exploring the Shiawassee County area.

Location & Surroundings

Located in the charming community of Byron, Michigan, the park sits in a region characterized by rolling farmlands and winding river systems. The surrounding landscape offers a quiet escape from the nearby urban hubs of Flint and Lansing. The park itself is situated directly on the shores of Myers Lake, where the water is clear and the shoreline is dotted with mature trees. This secluded lakeside setting ensures that guests enjoy quiet nights and scenic views, making it feel like a true getaway even though it remains easily accessible from major highways.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped to handle various camping styles, offering full hookup RV sites alongside electric and water options. On-site facilities include modern bathhouses, a laundry room, and a well-stocked camp store for essentials. For recreation, guests can enjoy a sandy swimming beach, miniature golf, and a dedicated playground. Because the lake is private, it remains exceptionally calm, perfect for using the park’s rowboat and paddleboat rentals. Fishing enthusiasts will appreciate the quiet waters, which are known for providing a relaxing experience away from motorized boat traffic.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While the lake is the primary draw, the area around Byron offers several interesting excursions. Visitors can explore the Shiawassee River Heritage Water Trail for kayaking and canoeing adventures. A short drive takes you to the historic downtown areas of Fenton or Howell, where local boutiques, craft breweries, and seasonal festivals offer a taste of Michigan culture. Golfers will find several public courses within a twenty-minute radius, and the nearby Seven Lakes State Park provides additional hiking trails and diverse ecosystems to explore during your stay.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for families and retirees who prefer a slower pace of life and a community-focused environment. It is a fantastic choice for parents looking for a safe, engaging space where children can swim and play outdoors. Because of the no-wake lake policy, it is particularly well-suited for birdwatchers, anglers, and those who enjoy quiet mornings on the water. If your travel style favors a classic Michigan camping experience with friendly neighbors and beautiful sunset views over the water, this park is a perfect fit for your itinerary.

Great staff, clean bathrooms, clean property. But the sites are lack luster in size. They are deep enough but very tight! With my slide out open and my awning out I had maybe a 18 inches from the slide out of the next unit. With so many seasonals that build permanent decks and fencing around every square inch it definitely distracts from being outdoors. I walked around and many sites are this tight. My father inlaws site had his dump plumbing directly under his slide out and the neighbors was about a foot under the edge of his awning.

First off, I would like to say that the Maintenance Man needs a raise because he literally saved my life, I was trying to pack up to leave, and I noticed there was a bat by my car which I am deathly afraid of,. And that’s probably not his job description to get this bat for me, but he did and he was very kind. The vibes here were just all around really good. They had like a really cool tournament going on Saturday night. The beach was amazing. The cabin was nice and clean. Bathrooms were spotless. Other than one dead bat there was no raccoons or anything like that so I honestly give this place a 10 out of 10.

I’ve been a seasonal camper at Meyers Lake Camping and Cabins since they reopened and it’s been an amazing experience every year. The campground is peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained. What truly makes Myers Lake stand out are the incredible owners, Steve and Cindy. Since day one, they have poured their hearts and souls into this place, and it shows in every detail-from well-maintained grounds and clean facilities to the thoughtful activities and events they host. They are not just owners- they are the heart and soul of the campground

If you like having some privacy & trees, this wouldn't be a place to go. I will say though, despite being packed in & close to our neighbors, Myers is extremely clean & peaceful. Everyone was respectful of quiet hours & they had some fun events @ the barn area. Being close to home with full hookup, I'd go again next year when we want a quick getaway.

First and foremost a big thank you to the new owners Steve and Cindy! You have done an incredible job with saveing this park. After years of the park being run down by the church not is now back to the great place it used to be. Tho we were all happy to see the church selling after years of neglect we were worried it would become a subdivision. The updates are amazing. Steven, Cindy have truly brought the campground into a modern camping experience. The updates are many from the beautiful revitalization of the old barn to the additional camping spaces to what was long long overdue with an upgrade to the electrical service and now even full hookup. They have set the place up for complete success. They're humble and open to ideas and suggestions. For their first year back at it, they are doing a fantastic job. We look forward to many years back at the park and many new memories to come. Thank you again, Steven &Cindy You have truly saved a fantastic place. Great family camping. Clean safe and laid back. Amazing staff! My family has camped here for almost 50 years. Family reunion is getting close to it 75 year at the campground.
