Narrows Too Camping Resort

Narrows Too is a fantastic campground and the perfect home base for exploring Acadia National Park. The sites are spacious and well-maintained, with many offering open skies — ideal for Starlink users — and some right along the water’s edge. There’s a peaceful path that leads down to the shoreline where you can relax on the rocks, watch the tide, or let the kids search for little sea creatures. It’s a beautiful spot for both sunrise and sunset. Amenities include a huge dog park, clean bathrooms and showers, a laundry room, camp store, pool (in season) and cornhole area. The only thing missing is a playground for the kids, which would make it absolutely perfect. The campground is conveniently located near the airport, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

We stayed in the basic cabins for about 4 nights to explore Acadia. It is very close to the national park. We usually took like 20-40 minutes to drive somewhere in the area and explore. The room was nice, and a perfect place to rest our heads without trying to drag along camping gear. The wall heater was broken but they provided us with a small space heater. It took a minute to heat up, but when it did we were definitely warm enough. They kept sending me messages about early check in but that option was not available to me because I did not know what my rental car information would be. I tried to get in touch through email but no one answered. The office was closed the day we got there, a lot of businesses in the area were closed on random days, but luckily our keys were easily accessible once we got there. I was just worried how the process would go.

We spent two weeks at Narrows Too Campground in early September 2025. The campground stayed busy, but it's wasn't packed full while we were there. The website and reviews talk about the waterfront campsites and impressive views, but that really depends what time of day it is. for example, when the water is up, there are GREAT views from the back of the campground, but when it's low, well the views aren't that good. The park is close to EVERYTHING Acadia and Bar Harbor, shopping and dining are close in Ellsworth, and Bangor is less than an hour away, so the location is FANTASTIC! The park is clean and well maintained and there are plenty of activities and amenities available, including a little store with some basic supplies. Some of the sites are a little tight, we pull a 35 foot travel trailer and with our rig pushed all the way to the rear of the site, touching trees, we still couldn't park in front of our rig. The big news here is the dog park. ITS AMAZING! In most places its an afterthought, but not here. It is huge and has activities for the dogs and even water! It seemed a bit pricey when we booked it, but after seeing other campgrounds in the area, it was worth it for what we got!

Maine has been our bucket list! Narrows Too was awesome! We were there for 10 days and loved it! Ride the Island Explorer instead of driving if you visit Bar Harbor or Acadia National Park! Bus system is AWESOME! Parking is crazy.

We just left site 405 where we stayed for a week. We had a beautiful water view. Amazing! The sites are extremely tight in that area. I could touch my camper and neighbor- Arm to arm! Neighbors sewer at our door. We booked knowing they were tight for view. We didn’t have internet and no cable either- was an inconvenience. The campground was perfect for a place to sleep, no frills. If my Kids were younger they would have been bored in the campground. However much to do in the area and Close to everything. We loved Maine.

As far as a campground, it is very straightforward. Location and shuttle service is a big plus for this campground. The 'camp coordinator' is the only reason I would give this place a three star. He was fantastic and helpful. He saved the face of this campground as upon arrival service was terrible and unhelpful at the office. Computer was down and that the site chosen for me was 'what I paid for therefore what you're getting'. Although I had attempted to pre-book via phone (no call back) and via internet without success. Would I go back? If there was no alternative.

Stayed through our Thousand Trails - Trails Collection membership. Everything about this campground was pure perfection. Free bus pickup to the National Park, beautiful views including the Northern Lights, and close to the grocery store down the road. Starlink worked great, and the staff was very kind and accommodating. Not really any amenities besides the bus which doesn't really bother us. Also, don't expect a waterfront site with the TT membership.

The park is close to Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. Across the street is Sugar Bakery that has an excellent blueberry pie $32, but we got 10 slices from it. The park is quiet other than obnoxious diesel trucks that people seem to think warming them up for 10 minutes at 5:51 am is necessary. A walk to the water is nice.

Great little campground next to the water. Stayed in a cabin that had electricity, ceiling fan, microwave and small frig. Flushable port a potty near cabin, or a small walk to showers and full bathrooms. Staff were friendly and after hours check in was a breeze. About 12 miles from Acadia. Good location. Easy to find.

This was our first time here and we weren't impressed! It was no Thousand Trails!! We made reservations 4 months in advance and asked for an ocean site since they didn't allow you to pick a site. So we get here and they give us site 306 which is extremely narrow and there are 2 huge 5th wheels with slide outs on both sides. The lady in the office laughed and said they call 403-407 "no awning sites", but yet they tried sticking us in it for the extra $300 more until we told them no. I asked if there was another ocean site available since there were a lot of empty sites that weren't as narrow and she said no they were all taken. After we went into site 606 and got set up, she told our friends that site 310 was available on the ocean if he wanted it?? WT??? Mind you, he didn't even have reservations and just decided to join us. Yet they were going to give him a nicer ocean site after telling us there weren't any!!! The laundry room was always dirty. I don't think anyone ever cleaned it. Dog hair all over the washers and just nasty looking. I was really disappointed in this place!!! Plus we cleaned out 1 washer to use and now the app that we had to use is sending fraudulent charges to our credit card so my credit card company had to cancel my card!!!

Very nice campground!! Love the size of the park, not so big you get lost! Nice friendly staff and love the camp store! Nice clean laundry room. A nice room for puzzles, games or reading! Love having access to the beach! It is rocky and mucky if you go to far out! But fun to sit and just enjoy !!

Overall, I enjoyed this RV park. We stayed at site 312, an ocean front site. It was definitely one of the nicer sites, though 314 and 315 offered more privacy, yet still had wonderful views. At any of the ocean front sites, there was a fantastic view of Mount Desert Island and the ocean in-between. It was pretty fascinating to watch the tides move in and out throughout the days. From our campsite, we were able to walk down to the ocean front and poke around, though we are young (30s) and fit and able to walk down the steep rocks. It might not be the easiest trek for someone a generation older. But, regardless, just down the road, there is a trail that is much easier to access the water-front area. All of the sites have full hook-ups, which worked flawlessly. The campground was clean and up to date. Unfortunately the campground does not have a playground, though it did have a very large dog park (which my girls found to be a fun 'playground'). There is a pool as well, though was closed when I was there in late May (to be expected). My only real gripe with this campground is that you can't choose your site, and that there is some miscommunication between the campground and Encore RV resorts. When I booked the site, I called their phone number listed on Google. I connected to an operator from RV resorts, not the actual campground, who got me booked and specifically booked me for site 312. A few days before my arrival, I got an email stating that my site would be booked 24 hours before arriving. I called the same number back and was sent straight to the campground this time. They informed me that I was not booked for site 312, rather I was booked for a "best oceanfront" site (which could be between 309-318), and that I would find out my actual site the day before arrival. There is quite a bit of difference between the different best oceanfront sites. As it turns out, I did get the requested 312, though I was there before prime season and most campsites were empty. I wonder how it would be during the peak season. Due to the booking situation, and not being able to book my actual site, I would only recommend this campground with some hesitation. If they would change this, and make it possible to book a specific site, I would recommend without hesitation and rate it 5 stars, rather than 4.

Large sites, some on the water. Gravel roads and sites. Nice location
