We arrived today at Navajo State Park. We stayed at the Rosa Campground. Site 138, lakefront. The reservoir is very low this time of year (mid September) and the water is way down there. But it is still very pretty. All the sites in Rosa are pull thru. Some sites have a covered shelter. They all have electricity, water and sewer. Fire pit and picnic table of course. The shrubs are nice but don’t expect too much privacy or shade. The altitude is 6150 ft so even in mid September it’s cooler. Temp at 4pm today is 77*. Tomorrow it’s in the 60’s. I would come back.

We stayed in the park two nights with our 42 ft 5th wheel. We stayed in the Carracas campground at site 57. This site had a little pavilion off the back that provided some shade over a picnic table. Not all sites have a pavilion. 57 was plenty big enough for our truck and trailer with room to spare. Plenty of space between each site. Close to the lake, restrooms with showers were not far from our site and are well kept. Dumpster all around the campground and a water spigot close.

Let's see, I booked a site at arboles point, it was great for a family of 6. There is plenty of room for the boys to run around and for our daughter to have her own tent. There were two vault toilets just in a 1-2 minute walking distance. We did not experience ANY mosquitos, which was a win to us. No raccoons, either. Nights got pretty cool, which was perfect for our family, but from 1 pm till about 5 pm, it was blazing, lol. The ONLY downside was the water and TRYING to get in. Although we were close to the water, we had to do a small hike to it. There was no real "path" but one that was walkable, The mud or sand around that area was like quick sand, I walked to the water and was instantly up to my knees in mud. We were able to get in for one day, but the water was pretty cloudy and did not want to risk it. If you are a star gazer, you will adore the night. The number of shooting stars you WILL SEE, make everything else in the day feel like it was worth it. I would give it a 9/10.

Overall, I thought Navajo State Park was pretty nice. It's not often a state park has full hook ups for an RV. The sites themselves are of decent size, enough space for Cornhole and such. There was a decent hiking trail just off the site that you can take for quite a while if you want. I did about 2.5mi one way and didn't see the end. The marina and boat launch are pretty nice as far as boat launches go. I'm sure I'll be back down there again, to check out more of the lake. Water was a bit cold so we didn't spend a whole lot of time out there.

Navajo State Park is beautiful 😍 late April is a little early to come I would come later in May. It was generally very windy and it got very cold at night but as long as you're prepared these things should be no problem 😊 we had a gorgeous overlook of the lake! There's even a small trail to hike down to the lake from the elevated campgrounds. The people at the front office were very friendly. Buying firewood is a must! There is very little natural fallen timber to burn and what there is burns super fast.

Clear water, beautiful scenery, great weather and full hookups for the camper. Plan for a long weekend because you won’t want to leave! Water was up to 250 ft and 80 degrees!

Navajo State park is in southern Colorado . Near the San Juan mountain range and a Southern Ute Reservation. They have some really cool rocks that show how the indigenous would communicate and tell stories with pictographs and hieroglyphs. The reservoir is surrounded by beautiful views. Unfortunately we did not get to go on the reservoir because of wind (we have an inflatable kayak). We hiked some of the trails and had a fun time with that. There are a few short trails, if you like hiking and doing long trails there is not much of that. We camped at Arobeles Point camp ground, it was about 20 minutes from the visitors center. We thought the campground was clean and nice. Especially for a 'primitive campground". It had tent pads, a picnic table, a fire pit, and bathrooms. The campsite we were at was shaded by trees it was a great campsite! I felt we had more privacy there than of we had camped at one of the main campgrounds. If you want to be able to launch a paddle board or kayak from your campground we suggest windsurf beach (it's not a sandy beach) but it goes right to the water for easy launching.

Big giant lake in both Colorado and New Mexico for boaters.we stayed at the Colorado side campground. Big roomy campground, coin-operated showers, and flush toilets. We went in August. During the week, it was not crowded. There are three campgrounds, one with a marina and a little store with chips and ice cream. Camp at the one with the marina for easier water access. We stayed in Carracas campground, the middle campground. Rode our e-bikes all over. Fished some but steep access getting down to the lake from there. Nice visitors center with helpful staff.

What a fantastic place, in off season it’s very quiet but lots of space doc campers RV’rs and all types of water sports. We walked the trails and the spring flowers were out and the heady aroma of sage bush was beautiful
