Navarro Mills Lake - COE/Pecan Point offers a serene escape into the Texas landscape. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this park is nestled on the northern shore of Navarro Mills Lake and is widely recognized for its lush pecan groves and peaceful atmosphere. Travelers looking for a quiet retreat away from the bustle of the interstate will find a well-preserved natural environment where the focus is on outdoor recreation and lakefront relaxation. It is a destination that highlights the simple pleasures of the Great Outdoors.

Location & Surroundings

Located near Purdon, Texas, the park is defined by its namesake towering pecan trees which provide significant shade during the hot Texas summers. The surrounding area is characterized by rolling prairies and the expansive waters of the lake. Being a Corps of Engineers site, the density of development is low, ensuring that visitors enjoy unobstructed views of the water and a genuine sense of seclusion. The natural landscape is home to various local wildlife, creating a harmonious backdrop for campers.

Amenities & Park Features

The park provides several essential features for RVers, including campsites equipped with water and electrical hookups. While it maintains a rustic charm, visitors have access to modern conveniences such as clean restroom facilities and hot showers. For those bringing boats, the dedicated boat ramp offers easy access to the water. The sites are generally spacious, often featuring picnic tables and fire rings, making them ideal for traditional evening campfires and outdoor dining under the stars.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Fishing is the primary draw here, as Navarro Mills Lake is known as one of the premier destinations for white crappie fishing in the state. Boating, kayaking, and swimming are also popular ways to spend the day on the water. Beyond the park gates, the nearby city of Corsicana offers a touch of history and the famous Collin Street Bakery, while nature enthusiasts can explore the surrounding wildlife management areas to spot native birds and deer in their natural habitats.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is perfect for anglers and nature lovers who prioritize a quiet, natural setting over high-end resort amenities. It is an excellent choice for families looking for an affordable lakeside vacation and retirees seeking a peaceful stopover. Good fishing camping and good patrol by county sheriff only thing we discovered is two sites are missing the fire ring to cook on

It's closed until April. I camped at Brushie Prairie park close by. Does Google maps not realize that Brushie Prairie park exists? Yes, it is very close to Pecan Point park, but it's to the left when you come to the fork in the road instead of to the right which would take you to Pecan Point park. Let's see if this post leads to any improvement in Google maps. Are you paying attention Google?

The camping spots are okay but park does not actively enforce rules. We had a large group (5 tents, 6-7 vehicles), with unleashed dogs, generator with floodlights and loud music until at least midnight adjacent to our campsite.
