Needles KOA Journey
See that lush oasis in the desert? It's no mirage, it's the Needles KOA.
See that lush oasis in the desert? It's no mirage, it's the Needles KOA. At the edge of the Mojave Desert, hand-laid rock walls grace this surprising spot bursting with vibrant bougainvillea, eucalyptus, mesquite and palm trees. Historic Needles is close to the casinos of Laughlin, Nevada, and the scenic ghost town of Oatman, Arizona. There's plenty of life at this KOA, where the clubhouse (with a stone fireplace) is a popular gathering spot for potlucks, bingo, card games and holiday parties. The campground store offers award-winning salsa and red-chile marmalade. Stop by the gift shop for Route 66 items. Pool: Open all year. Max pull thru: 80 feet. Your hosts: Bill & Carla Sandberg.

Great for an overnight stay. The sites are pretty level, so we didn't have to disconnect the trailer. The sites are large as well. There isn't a lot of shade. Go across the river for gas and save a couple bucks a gallon.

Fine campground for a one night stay. The staff is nice and the spots are level. The pool was very cold eventhough it seems to be always hot in Needles. The restrooms and showers were not great and need some work. Atleast put lockable doors in the showers instead of 2 shower curtains.

This KOA is in the desert and shade is minimal, as would be expected. The grounds are well-kept and surrounded by huge oleanders with an occasional palm tree, gum tree or willow. Registration is in a cute store with varied tourist items. Postcards are still 3 for $1.00! The owner, Carla, is very pleasant with a warm heart toward cats. The dog run is 30’x40’, very clean and fenced well. Inside, there are two benches and a covered bench swing directly outside the fence. Poop bags and a trash can is provided. The dog area has horse shoe posts if that’s your game. The laundry room is clean and open 24 hours. The campsites are level and we didn’t need to level ours. Lampposts are spread throughout the RV areas. These provide sufficient lighting without glaring into RVs. We will certainly return on our next trip.

Stayed at this KOA to visit the Burros in Oatman and on the way up to Las Vegas. Friendly staff, easy to manuver in park and pull thru site was perfect for our 40' Class A Rig that tows a 14' trailer and also a prius for our drive around car. Good price for KOA and what is around to explore. Not too far off the interstate, but far enough so no road noise. Did use the pool and seemed good. FHU site, all worked well and good location for our rig. One of the better KOA's I've stayed at for sure and great value for the price.

We have not stayed here but it is on our travel plans. My review comes with the time and service I received by inquiring about a site! Front desk lady was super helpful in determining the site we should book and how we go about getting last minute reservations. Our conversation on the phone is what is making my decision on where to stay! You get to talk to a real person and phone number goes directly to the front desk of this particular location. Thank you for taking the time to chat with an old lady that had lots of odd questions!

Older KOA. Large csmpground, but all sites are dirt. Trees are limited. Does have a small dog park, but it's clean. Bathrooms are clean but older. Large swimming pool and the long term residents havr events. An okay place to stop but not for a longer stay.with us.

This is my favorite KOA. It’s quiet. It’s clean. I think it has nice areas to walk dogs. The mail processing is professional and better than any park that I’ve been to. The staff are courteous and helpful. After being at the busy Tucson Lazy Days KOA, this was an especially relaxing stay here in Needles. Great views of the desert and surrounding mountains

This KOA is a desert Journey. Friendly and helpful staff. Good place for a stop Over or if your into desert activities. The park is clean and well Maintained. There are showers and restrooms that are clean. Needles doesn’t have grocery store and the nearest is in Fort Mohave 13 miles away.
