Needles KOA Journey
See that lush oasis in the desert? It's no mirage, it's the Needles KOA.
See that lush oasis in the desert? It's no mirage, it's the Needles KOA. At the edge of the Mojave Desert, hand-laid rock walls grace this surprising spot bursting with vibrant bougainvillea, eucalyptus, mesquite and palm trees. Historic Needles is close to the casinos of Laughlin, Nevada, and the scenic ghost town of Oatman, Arizona. There's plenty of life at this KOA, where the clubhouse (with a stone fireplace) is a popular gathering spot for potlucks, bingo, card games and holiday parties. The campground store offers award-winning salsa and red-chile marmalade. Stop by the gift shop for Route 66 items. Pool: Open all year. Max pull thru: 80 feet. Your hosts: Bill & Carla Sandberg.

Great stop on my cross country trip. Lady, last night, at front desk was wonderful, helpful and very informative. Sites are large enough for my big rig motorhome. Easy entrance, pull through and exit. They had items i needed in the girft store, reasonably priced. Definitely recommend !!

If you're just looking for electricity, they've got pull-throughs for $40 a night they also offer full hookup but I don't know the price. They also have cabins and tent areas, bathroom, laundry and a convenience store in the office. They have a nice pool if you're into swimming or cooling off during the hot days. Excellent customer service. After I dumped I remembered I needed to check my tail lights and sure enough a light was out. Their maintenance man helped me out and they had they had the bulbs I needed which was burnt out and when I asked how much they said nothing that they had used that pack to test somebody else's lights. So they got me back on the road with both tail lights working.

Beautiful desert KOA with scenic views and a pool. Honestly one of the best KOA sites I have had the pleasure of staying at. All the amenities you could want and the tent sites have a roof over them. Staff is very friendly. Since its in the middle of the desert I pretty much had the place to myself. Considering it was over 100 degrees during my stay that pool was a huge boon. This KOA is a very welcoming little oasis if you find yourself in the area.

I have stayed here several times. A convenient 1/2 way stop for an overnight to the next destination. However, the staff have been consistently abrupt, short of rude at check-in. Granted, it was 108°, but the office was air conditioned. The pull-through RV sites are somewhat level with very little shade. Many sites are for residents or long-term stays. Convenient location to highway, also means traffic noise. Will I be back, most likely not. Not convenient to downtown limited services.

Great for an overnight stay. The sites are pretty level, so we didn't have to disconnect the trailer. The sites are large as well. There isn't a lot of shade. Go across the river for gas and save a couple bucks a gallon.
