I love this area. For fishing, relaxing. This place and the surrounding areaa are decent.

The swimming area is covered in moss and dead snails i remember as a kid that place was the best and the cleanest. Now it looks like it hasn't been touch since 1988

Out of the way type of quiet place. Lots of room. There is 50 amp service at some pads. And the pads could use some more rock and leveling. Still a very interesting place to camp, hike, fish and enjoy Iowa. Park rangers are very helpful and knowledgeable.

This is a great park nestled well back in the hills. Quiet and far enough away for some good stary nights. There are three distinct areas with electrical hookups and communal water spigots. Plenty of tent sites are dispersed around the park with picnic areas. Northwest of the lake is large area up a hill with a playground, half basketball court, shower house, cabins, camp host, a bunker style tornado shelter, and the dump station. Down the hill is a small four spot area, two more cabins, and a communal pit style bathroom, all close to the lakes boat ramp and a decent fishing pier. The northeast side of the lake has the swimming area, shower house, another playground, several covered pavilions, and another set of electrical spots, maybe 8 more smaller sites. Two upper areas on the north east side have green spaces and pavilions. The roads leading to these can be a bit difficult with rutting or washouts. Both offer great views of the night sky and are worth it. The park is older and has some wear/charm, but also comes with mature trees that offer great shade. Foot paths meander through the area and offer access to most things on foot.

Cute park with a bathroom in showers to wash off a Sandy beach with a swimming area. And a gravel a parking lot. The day we went, the water was very green and full of floating algae. But we've been other times it hasn't been that way. I assume it was a temporary problem.

I grew up going to this campground. It was so much fun. I haven’t been up here in almost 13 years. I recently brought my kids to have the same experience as I did. I am highly disappointed with what it is now. The beach is awful- not clean anymore. And the lake needs dredging. It’s no wonder why no one is swimming there anymore. Back in the day- you couldn’t even find a parking spot to get to the lake because it was so packed. The bathrooms are still nice. And our campsite was nice as well. The trails had a bunch of trees down. They really let this place go and it’s unfortunate.

Was out for an afternoon drive and found this park. Beautifully nestled in the hills with the ability to rent shelters, swim, camp, and fish. I was impressed with how nice the campgrounds appeared. There is an emergency shelter in case there are any severe thunderstorms that may come through the area. The restrooms are a little on the dirty side, as in a lot of spider webs and bug carcasses throughout. I expect this at a campground however it seems like it has been quite some time since that has been cleaned. We also did rent a cabin since we did not want to Hitch up our camper. A cabin was spacious clean aside from spider webs and bugs. I was a little disappointed with the seating option within the cabin as it was half of a plastic bench / picnic table. However we will definitely be back with our own camper to enjoy everything that this campground offers.

Clear water! Plenty of gills on their beds. Had a trolling motor issue wasn't able to get my 2 man out but if I could have pretty sure my catching rate would have been better! Great little boat ramp and dock for the water vessels to get on the water easily. I did catch a crappie and 6 little bass from the dam on spinnerbait!

Fun little park with a few good camping sites. Took my kayaks out for a little fun it's a good size lake if your not sharing it with 100 other people. Restrooms are fancy out houses but they were clean and nice
