It's a nice park for people who want to just camp and relax. They have nothing to do for the ADHD crowd. If you want to go to Nelson and expect many campground ran activities, you are going to be sadly disappointed. They do have a beach on the trempealeau river... You can't swim in it because it's too shallow, but it's good for cooling off. The dump station is awkwardly placed, when you are dumping, vehicles coming in have to go around you on the grass. If you're looking for excitement, don't come here, if you're looking for a quiet campground to relax, this is your place.

This was a gem! I don’t know how my husband found this but we throughly enjoyed it and the area. It was clean and quiet and easy to maneuver around in. They have laundry and bathrooms etc, but we did not use them. We have a 35’ motorcoach and tow a Jeep - the spaces were ample wide and long, easy back in sites. Nelson and several of the surrounding townships are so comfortable and homey. We enjoyed the community and the people. The Nelson cheese and ice cream was great. The music in the park in Fountain City was lovely. It was a short drive back to Minnesota to the Eagle Center and into Wabasha to museums, etc. We would like to come back and explore more - and we would stay here!

Awesome park, in a beautiful location overlooking the bluffs and Mississippi River. Lots to do, good bars, restaurants, and an easy drive up or down the River Road to other river towns. Wabasha is just over the bridge for shopping and supplies. Big Rig friendly, and very laid-back atmosphere. Love it here! Will definitely be back!

Clean and very nice. Great dog park and location. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the trains you can hear.
