Nevada County Fairgrounds
Overview
The Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park offers a unique camping experience in the heart of the Sierra Nevada foothills. Frequently cited as one of the most scenic fairgrounds in the country, this destination is defined by its towering ponderosa pines and rolling hills. It serves as a peaceful gateway for travelers exploring California’s Gold Country, providing a blend of natural beauty and organized camping facilities. The year-round accessibility of the RV park makes it a versatile choice for those passing through Northern California during any season.
Location & Surroundings

The grounds are expansive, offering plenty of space to walk among the trees or enjoy the crisp mountain air. Nearby lakes and rivers complement the lush landscape, providing a true mountain-town feel just minutes from local amenities. Its elevation ensures cooler temperatures during the summer months compared to the valley below, making it a refreshing stop for long-term travelers.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

For outdoor adventurers, the South Yuba River provides opportunities for hiking and swimming in crystal-clear waters just a short drive from your campsite. The area is also famous for its vibrant arts scene and seasonal community markets.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal choice for nature-loving RVers who prefer a forest setting over a traditional paved resort. It is perfectly suited for history buffs exploring the Gold Rush region or families looking for a quiet, spacious basecamp. Because the park is part of the fairgrounds, it is also the premier spot for travelers attending the famous Nevada County Fair or local seasonal festivals. It strikes a balance between rustic charm and the practical needs of modern campers.

I love Nevada County Fairgrounds. It's the most gorgeous fairgrounds in the USA 🇺🇸. We have many wonderful events like the Drafthorse Classic , our legendary Fair, many music festivals and the Celtic Fair. Plenty of clean bathrooms. Everything is mostly handicapp accessible with only a few areas that could use improvements.

Beautiful well kept fair grounds, lots of shade available under towering pines. Well maintained walking paths all over the park. Some paths are lined with beautiful flower beds bursting with bright yellow marigolds. all buildings are painted nicely. The arena has a very nice grandstand that offers bench seating with backrests.. restrooms are always close by and easy to find.

Best fairgrounds and RV park hands down. Always enjoy our week there. Staff are wonderful. Grounds are well maintained. Very peaceful with the pond.

This is the most beautiful fairgrounds I have ever been to. There is shade everywhere. Tall trees, the weather was perfect and mild. Plenty to do and see. The food options were amazing. Something for everyone and the lines were not long for food. I plan to come back next year!

Beautiful setting for a county fair! Lots of shade, grass, food booths and communityspirit. What's lacking? Working drinking fountains~ the one watering station isn't enough.
