New London Reservoir Park

Overview

New London Reservoir Park offers a serene escape for RV travelers looking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of North Central Ohio. Spanning a 220-acre reservoir and a 38-acre park, this destination provides a quiet, scenic retreat away from the bustle of city life. Managed by the local village, the park strikes a perfect balance between functional camping and expansive outdoor recreation, creating an atmosphere that is both intimate and welcoming for seasonal and short-term visitors alike.

Location & Surroundings

Located just outside the Village of New London in Huron County, the park is surrounded by peaceful agricultural landscapes and lush greenery. Its position in the heart of the Firelands region makes it easily accessible via major state routes while maintaining a secluded atmosphere. The reservoir serves as the central focal point, reflecting the changing Ohio skies and providing a picturesque backdrop for every campsite, making it a favorite for those who enjoy sunrise views over the water.

Amenities & Park Features

The campground is designed to accommodate modern RVers with practical features that ensure a comfortable stay. Guests can enjoy electric hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, ensuring reliable power for various rig sizes and configurations. While the park maintains a rustic charm, it provides access to a central dump station and fresh water fill-up points for convenience. The facility also includes well-maintained restrooms and showers, along with picnic shelters and a playground, making it a functional and clean basecamp for your adventures.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw for many visitors is the reservoir itself, which is a top-tier destination for fishing enthusiasts seeking walleye, bass, and crappie. Since only electric motors are permitted on the water, the surface remains calm and quiet, perfect for kayaking or canoeing. On land, visitors can explore the 2.2-mile walking trail that circles the entire reservoir, offering excellent birdwatching and exercise. A designated swimming beach provides a place to cool off during the warm summer months, while the nearby towns of Ashland and Norwalk offer additional local dining.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal fit for nature lovers and anglers who prefer a rustic, tranquil environment over a high-activity commercial resort. It is perfect for retirees looking for a quiet place to relax and families who enjoy simple outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and swimming. If you are a traveler who appreciates starlit nights and calm mornings by the water, New London Reservoir Park will suit your travel style perfectly.

We reserved our site 132, got here and the people behind us in spot 133 was plugged into our electric box. There was no box for that site on the poles listed for 133. Went to tell the people in office was told we would have to move after putting up our pop camper. She said that she didn’t put in the power box so she didn’t know. Well I talked to a permanent resident and they gave me an adapter to go from 110 to 30 am so I could at least get power. Well here I am at 1:00 in the morning writing a review because this place is not a campground it’s a party place. Loud music people yelling trains going by every 15 minutes blowing there horn. If your a family and want to relax this is not the place for you but if you want to drink and be loud all night perfect place for you. Also people walking right up to your camper as they walk by talking as loud as they can. No police or security has been seen since we been here.

Called and reserved a campsite and found out I reserved it at the wrong campground and when asked for a refund of $120 they said they can’t put it back on my card that they have to send it to this person then to the next person then to a town meeting before they can write me a check mind you I paid them when I reserved the site on 6/28/23 and the town meeting isn’t until 7/10/23 and they will mail the refund after it’s approved at the town meeting other than that the place is laid back nice place clean and the campers are all friendly

owner yelled at us for going 2 miles over the speed limit while driving a golf cart, then proceeded to search for us in his golf cart, going faster than we were telling us we needed to slow down.
