My girls and I had a great time camping here. Our campsite was clean and easy to access. The views to the New River were spectacular and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. If we are back in the area, we will be sure to stay here again!

It was our first time visiting NRJ to camp and tube and we had no idea what to expect. Over the last few years we've come to learn that our family enjoys camping in more basic campgrounds and state parks that thrive on nature's beauty to keep campers engaged. This campground is set right against the New River and our kids and dog enjoyed forging across on a daily basis. We tubed on a green day and the rapids were perfect for smaller children in this water level. It's only eight miles from a beautiful hike to Cascade Falls. The campground has a more more remote feel with limited bath houses and does not have a sewer hook up at each site, however there's a dump station on the way out. It is perfect for visiting during a VTech game weekend, with a 22 minute drive to the stadium. If you're looking for a quiet campground to escape with the family and dive in to nature's waterpark, you can't go wrong with NRJ.

We thoroughly enjoyed a weekend camping on the New River. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The tubing was very fun. We went four times!!! The Falls were very exciting. Unbelievably, the campground was very quiet in the evening times, probably because of the extensive strict rules which we did appreciate. The only downside would be very poor internet connections and outdated bathrooms. There is one woman’s bathroom and one men’s bathroom. There is a shower in the women’s room, but it did not work, and I believe they have It turned off during the day when the tubers are present because there is a separate shower for tubers. Only thing missing is a coffee bar! Thank you again so much, and we will be back. We did go purchase own tubes and they were very nice with the mesh on the bottom and the pillows. I would also recommend that.💕🫶🏻🙏🏻

We had a great time on the river today. The staff was all so polite and helpful. We took 4 trips down the river and through the falls. The river float was very relaxing and the falls were fun. Definitely recommend this and the tube upgrade was well worth it.

This was a great place to go fishing. We caught a smallmouth bass on the first cast. The workers were very nice and respectful. Overall a great place. The sight was amazing.

Site is a great location, bathrooms were not the cleanest but it’s a campsite so it’s expected. Would def come back

The cabin we stayed in was nice. They had no outside trash cans around the whole camping area we were in & no grills. Bath houses were a little on the yucky side & they will only let you burn wood you purchase there, can't even go around & pick up sticks.

Tubing was okay, but continuously got caught by the rocks and having to get out to get unstuck (Green Level day). This ultimately contributed to bruises and scratches everywhere. The refund policy for camping is a joke. I’m sure it’s not difficult getting people who want to stay one night (especially locals), but forcing people into a miserable second night - or at times a third - is inconsiderate of patrons. The decrease in refunds for the time provided to them is also inconsiderate. There’s no shortage of people wanting to camp. The camping spots are mostly narrow and you feel like you’re overtop others. As you get further down the camp ground, everyone’s tents are practically side by side. The train blows right by the lot frequently, making for a restless night. Because of their refund policy, you’re out money and leaving exhausted(they must know a lot of people leave after the first night). We weren’t the only ones packing up to leave after one day. The bathrooms/showers are disgusting and look and smell as though they’re never routinely cleaned/dusted well. The “tuber” showers are 24/7 to prevent the other showers from getting bad, but it made no difference. They equally were dirty, foul smelling, with countless spots of mold/webs/spiders. The port-a-potties were better maintained. At least the staff were kind during interactions.

I hate to say it but this place is AWFUL. If you want to float just park two cars and do it on your own. Their whole system of keeping track of tubes is flawed. They have what they referred to as a “child” documenting who takes which tube... I checked out one tube and they charged us for two... they then refused to give me a refund, they told me my wrist band must have fallen off in the water, while also citing that their wrist bands were water proof. I brought them back 3 tubes that were unaccounted for and they still wouldn’t give me my ID back. Even when the owner realized she was wrong she refused to admit it. She cussed me out, every staff member I interacted with was extremely rude. The owners son invaded my personal space in a threatening manner after he misunderstood the conversation that was taking place. After talking to other customers I found out they have a history of doing things like this. They then charge each party $25 for each “missing” tube... stay far away from this place.
