Very nice campground. It was quiet when we arrived and set up. We had neighbors show up with little screaming kids, but that's what can happen in any campground. It's quiet now because they're gone somewhere. The view from our waterfront site is perfect. Leaves are turning, and it's beautiful. Actually, the pit toilets are pretty nice and taken care of.

Loved everything about this campsite..wasn't very noisy, even thou there was a boat launch by the entrance but all the visitors were respectful and as a camper u didn't even notice boats coming and going..the site I had was very spacious..the site also had its own trail that lead to the lake and I had my morning coffee there everyday..truly an outdoor person dream..the views, vibes..oh and the howling of wolves at night, made everything even better..

Very nice camp ground, clean sites and large. Do not bother bringing wood or buying any, there was fallen trees everywhere to burn. Save your money and bring a saw. I wouldn't hesitate to come back. A few negatives are a shooting range close by so you will listen to that until it closes and it is close to a county highway, not terribly annoying or loud just something to be aware of. They have many walk in sites, fire wood for sale and vault toilets. A nice walking trail.

Campsites are way too close together together, also too close to the road and highway. I was informed by the Crystal Lake Headquarters that all Trout lake beaches are dog friendly, and I have a pamphlet that states dogs can swim at trout lake, but when I arrived there are signs that say no dogs just like Crystal Lake. It’s a shame dogs can only swim where people fish. But the view at night is pretty and after 11pm it’s kind of relaxing. Don’t camp here if you are trying to be away from people. But the other campers are nice! Just not what I’m personally looking for unfortunately.
