Sweet, family-friendly campground set just outside of Cody! We stayed here for two nights and ended up moving to the Lake Shore campground for better views and more of a breeze. This is a fantastic spot if you're passing through on your way to Yellowstone or have a family and want fellow kids to play with. There was great energy with lots of kids and families around tent camping! This place would be a dream as a kid (perfect loop for biking). Because you are close to the river, on a warm summer night with no breeze, the bugs were insane. More bugs than I've ever seen per square foot stuck to camper window. Be aware of this if anyone in your family is fearful of bugs. I am not exaggerating. If it is cooler or there is wind, you will likely be okay - we saw a lot less bugs when that was the case. There is no direct river access, don't be fooled by the map. Lots of bushes and shrubbery between campsites and the waterfront. If you want water access, you will have to drive up the road to the day-use reservoir. However, you are much more downhill and set back from the road so it is very quiet and peaceful at night! Bathrooms were clean-ish by Monday morning, I've seen worse but definitely seen better. Lots of foot traffic. We were here in late July. Sites 41, 43, and 45 have the most shade thanks to being closest to the tree line. #41 had the tallest trees and most shade if you are planning to hang around camp during the day. The larger side of the campground (Sites #48-112) with electric hookups was busy. Sites are close together and you're snuggled in with your neighbors. Not a ton of trees, so prepare to be cooked out on a warm summer day or be running your AC from 10am-2pm if there are no clouds. We love Buffalo Bill, but in summer would generally choose the Lake Shore campground over the North Fork!

Nice, quiet campground with plenty of spots available. We stayed at this particular campground because of the showers. They are very nice, large, and very clean, but bring quarters as they are not free showers: $1.00/3 min. There is a change machine right outside if needed.

Nice, clean, campground set against a backdrop of the Absaroka Mountains and the Cody reservoir. A good mix of electric, non-electric, and tent specific sites this campground has hot showers with flush toilets (quarter fed) at one end and pretty clean pit toilets in several locations. Reservations were easy on-line - just don't forget there is a daily fee in addition to the camping fee. The views from this campground are terrific. About 18 miles west of Cody, the North Fork campground set in the Shoshone River valley. The nearby dam and reservoir help make this area very striking visually as well. One other note (for those who care about these things), cell coverage is good on AT&T (2 to 5 bars/5G) and fair on Verizon (1 to 3 bars 4G LTE). Highly recommended for it's scenic beauty, ease of access, and nearness to Cody and the east gate of Yellowstone. Pretty sure we'll be back...

What a gem! We were driving through Cody and found this great campground. We stayed in site 35 and it had plenty of shade and tons of space! The bathrooms are well maintained and clean. We will definitely be back!

Nice campground, reasonable pricing. The firewood is free, just like a donation. Vault toilets. Seems pretty quite at night. Not much road noise. Sites are set up differently than we are used to. Fire pit and table at each site. Pads are soft, made staking in tents a bit difficult. Will come again
