We stayed in a yurt. In the mountains. It was a beautiful experience i think that everyone should give it a try.

We just spent two weeks at North Park Campground, and it was the most relaxing vacation I’ve had in years. Our sites were clean and ready when we arrived, and the staff struck the perfect balance—helpful without hovering. The recent improvements to reopen North Park really show, and they’ll keep us coming back. The location is also ideal, with an easy drive to the Cheyenne Rodeo. The trails, while we wish there were more of them, offered stunning views and a true sense of escape—no trash, no careless riding, just pure outdoors. We also saw plenty of wildlife, including moose and mule deer, which made the rides unforgettable. Michigan Lake, now full again after the dam rebuild and freshly stocked by the park service, was another highlight. One note: Google Maps still needs to update the area map, so plan ahead when navigating. North Park has truly become a favorite, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Campsites appear decent, hookups were fine. The sites are a generous size. If you want to do buddy sites I recommend 620 and 626. Trees aren't mature enough for much shade. Our dump hookup had to cross the paved ADA walkway from the campsite, so we left it unconnected until we needed to dump. Water tasted fine. The shower house was nicely done. The dumpster is at the entrance so it's a little walk or you can drop it on your way out. The old KOA buildings are still there in disrepair but some rustic cabins were still in use. No moose but we heard cows in the morning and wolves at night. There is some cell service at the campground. There are no rivers or lakes by the campground so if you see pictures by water they are not this campground. We would come back.

Stay here for the location! The campground is fine, full hookups for my RV is all that really matters but my site was big, level, and everything worked as expected. The campground is centrally located for accessing all of the great things in the area including north MI res, American lakes, Cameron pass, all the good stuff. There's a little bit of road noise during the day but it's tolerable. I'll go back for sure. The views from my sight were amazing.

We stayed in cabin 9 of the north park campground. It is very rustic and without particular views. But the bathrooms and showers are great and super clean. And you can drive 15-30 minutes and find pretty cool hikes.

Stayed at the hummingbird haven at Never Summer Nordic. Beautiful location and friendly owners. Will stay again.

I've been calling the number for 2 weeks now and no answer. Is this phone number correct? Are they closed? We've stayed before and would like to again but may have to head into Walden instead.

Second year hunting out of here and CPW still hasn't fixed the showers. The toilet doesn't flush well and the plunger it's so old send used it only gets 1 plunge and gets stuck in place

Stayed at a nearby Yurt and stopped in for supplies and to talk. Very nice owner and daughter. We bought a few supplies and were pleasantly surprised they had a liquor store on site. Spent some more money in there as well! We will be back when the snow is gone to camp in their cabins.

Since the campground is no longer a KOA, this place has changed a lot! There are structures that are no longer around (for safety reasons) and there have also been a few changes to the grounds (roads are more level and smooth, unsafe structures taken down and so on). What's also nice is that you are not on top of your neighbors (with plenty of space to have some privacy). The sites can accommodate longer rigs and there is more space for your "toy" trailers too. You can see the milky way, with plentiful stars in the night sky, especially when there are no clouds in the sky. But what is really cool, is the addition of a LIQUOR STORE on the grounds! Now there isn't much need to travel 20 miles into the town of Walden, CO. They have many of the items, you may have forgotten, in their little store. My son really enjoyed their playground. The staff is very kid and pet friendly too! I really like the new staff here and hope that it will stay this way for a long time into the future.
