Pit toilets were darn near full. Yuck! No shower house. Very peaceful campgrounds. Not much going on in this sleepy town.

Clean restrooms. Absolutely no security. Locals walk through at all times of the day. If they notice you are not at your campsite they will take the liberty of going through your belongings and taking what they please. We will never stay at this campground again.

RV pads are nice and big. There's no place to purchase wood except for an old loca gasl station a block away that closed down at 9pm. Bathrooms needed cleaning. Our site's fire ring was filled garbage... beer bottles, chip wrappers, aluminum foil, cans, and 2 packs with of cigarettes butter. It was a bit disheartening. Our pad (#4) did back up to a wooded tree-lined overlooking the bay and had a huge grassy area between the pad and tree-lined, good for yard hmgames and extra tents.

Nice little campground in a nice town. The problem is they raise the rates the $40 a night plus tax. Really nothing here except wi-fi. No showers, no laundry,. State parks are $25 and they have things to offer. It was a good deal at 30 hours a night. It's not worth $40 a night. Won't be coming back cuz I can't afford it.

I visited the night of 10/11/24, looking for a place to stay for the Lake Superior Performance Rally Race (LSPR). The campsite felt like it was effectively a grassy field with gravel drive access to each of the sites. It's a pretty small campground. It appeared like each side had its own water spigot, fire pit, and picnic table. There were 2 latrine outbuildings in good shape. It was a little annoying how loud the outdoor music was playing at a local bar ~2 blocks away. The music went on past midnight. There were no bugs when I visited. Overall, it wasn't bad for $15/night.

Nice campground. I liked the nice camper pad. We had a farmers market next to us one morning and a wedding one afternoon. My only complaint is that I was not aware that there were no showers/ bathrooms. I would have brought my portable septic tank if I had known. Also, there was no indication of a dump station. Luckily I thought to ask the gentleman at the antique shop, and he informed me where to find it

We recently enjoyed 4 nights here. The simplicity and peacefulness are the best part(s) of this campground. I believe at least 2 of the nights we stayed the local bar had live music, we could hear the music whilst enjoying a fire outside, once inside our camper we could no longer hear it. During our stay all RV sites besides one were filled along with multiple tent sites, traffic throughout the campground seemed minimal. A couple of the families had younger children who were enjoying themselves playing , running & at night they appeared to be playing flashlight tag. We enjoyed walking the trails, soaking up the sunshine & our omelets from the local restaurant.

Do not recommend staying here if you want any sleep or if you have kids. The bar across the street blares music until about 3 am. There is constantly people driving through the campground that ain’t even camping there. There is no campground host so it’s pretty much a free for all. There are atv’s everywhere. The community dumpster is also located at the campground so people are constantly dumping off trash. There is no swimming area at all. The banks of the water is littered with broken glass everywhere. There is also no actual access to the water unless you go through the dense woods. Will never stay there again.

We had a terrible experience. First the bar down the street had music blaring all night. There was also music coming from the other side of the campground. We stayed an entire week and every night there was music until 2-3am. People drive through the campground for a joyride, so don't expect your kids to be able to ride their bikes. There is access to the river with small fish but no swimming area. One morning while making breakfast they mowed the grass it didn't need to be cut. They drove right on the edge of our site blowing dust all over us and in our food. The kids were running around and they almost took our kids and the neighbors dog out. Over all we will not be back and I can't give much positives.

The location is outstanding with an easy ride over the bridge to Nags Head or for staying on the island and exploring all there is to do there. The sites are gravel and there is plenty of lawn for hanging out on as well as tow vehicle parking. The pool is amazing and best of all, their campground host is lovely. He is there when you need him, not when you don't. He is friendly and makes your stay very pleasant. We had a lot of questions for him and never once felt that he was tired of answering them for us. Good spot for a few days!!!!!! Or longer
Love this campground!

A very nice little campground located in a historic iron mining town. Limited amenities, pit toilets and no showers, but clean grounds, roomy sites just off the river make up a bit lacking stuff.

Clean spacious sites. Modern bathroom. 3rd year we've stayed here for several nights. Kayaked down the Michigamee River right to the campground.
