Surrounded by the dense boreal forest, this park provides a scenic backdrop for travelers looking to experience the natural beauty of the island. It serves as an excellent base for those navigating the Trans-Canada Highway, offering a perfect blend of wilderness and accessibility.

Location & Surroundings

Situated along the tranquil shores of Junction Pond, the park features a landscape defined by tall evergreens and shimmering water. Its location near the Gateway to the North makes it a strategic stop for RVers exploring the northern peninsulas or heading toward the Twillingate area. The environment is quiet and secluded, allowing visitors to feel fully immersed in the rural charm of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped for modern campers, offering a selection of electrical campsites alongside traditional unserviced spots for a more rustic experience. Travelers can take advantage of modern comfort stations featuring hot showers and laundry facilities, which are essential for long-term road trips. For recreation, the park includes a sandy swimming beach, a designated swimming area, a boat launch for small watercraft, and well-maintained playgrounds for families.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the park boundaries, the town of Lewisporte offers a world-class marina and a variety of local dining and shopping options. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the Woolfrey’s Pond Trail, which provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape and coastal vistas. The area is also popular for birdwatching and inland fishing. Within the park, visitors can hike the nature trails or spend a relaxing afternoon kayaking on the calm, protected waters of the pond.
