Nova Family Campground

Overview

Nova Family Campground offers a tranquil, tree-lined retreat in the heart of Port Orange. Unlike many coastal parks that feature open, sandy lots, this destination is known for its lush canopy of mature trees that provide welcome shade from the Florida sun. The park maintains a peaceful atmosphere while offering the convenience of paved interior roads and well-defined campsites, making it a reliable choice for those seeking a more traditional woodland camping experience near the Atlantic coast.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just a few miles south of Daytona Beach, the park serves as a gateway to the Fun Coast region. It is conveniently located near major corridors like I-95, yet the wooded setting helps buffer the noise of the surrounding city. Travelers will find themselves within minutes of local grocery stores and restaurants in Port Orange, while still being close enough to feel the coastal breeze and reach the shoreline with a short drive.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is equipped to handle a variety of camping styles, from smaller travel trailers to large motorhomes. The facility offers several key features to ensure a comfortable stay:

  • Full hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp electrical service.
  • Spacious pull-through sites for easier navigation of larger rigs.
  • A clean swimming pool and recreation room for family entertainment.
  • On-site laundry facilities and modern bathhouses.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw for many visitors is the Daytona International Speedway, located just a short drive away. Motorsports enthusiasts find the park an ideal base during race weeks. Other popular regional destinations include:

  • The historic Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and museum.
  • World-famous Atlantic beaches for sunbathing and surfing.
  • The Marine Science Center for educational wildlife encounters.
  • Shopping and dining at the Pavilion at Port Orange.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an excellent fit for families and retirees who appreciate a quiet, natural environment without sacrificing proximity to urban conveniences. It is particularly well-suited for travelers who prefer the privacy provided by shaded sites rather than the open-lot style of many beachfront resorts. Whether you are in town for a major event at the Speedway or simply looking for a relaxing home base to explore the Volusia County coast, this park offers a balanced and welcoming experience.

The honor system they have for late arrivals is where this campground ends as being “family “style . Super corporate like , penny pinching , and don’t be a minute past check out time. They also put so much chlorine in their shower water it made me physically ill.

Nova is our home away from home! We have been coming for over 10 years and simply love it! The staff is great and always willing to help. The park is clean and quiet and offers something for everybody. It’s conveniently located

Have been staying at Nova for special events since 2005, so close to everything but far enough way for a peaceful sleep at night!!! Recently we moved a camper to Nova and became a year round resident. We visit atleast 2 times a month…we just love it here

I haven't really been in any rooms. They haven't cabins there and looked quite cozy and cute that you can rent as well.As RV areas from 50amp To 30amp ,water sewer and electric hook ups and even the camp area. The staff were nice. And the place Has a pool, a game room and a little store right in it. You can refill your propane tanks here and you can also get ice right from the store on premises.

Found this place on a whim years ago traveling with our RV. Although it is starting to show its age. It's still our go-to place when in Daytona. Staff is always friendly and helpful. It would be nicer if the owner put some upgrades in.
