We love this place! Tammy and Mel are so friendly and helpful! The place is always so clean. They really do keep the property managed well and in check. Edit-Aside from making campers not have stored junk outside I am not certain that there can be anything done to combat my updated review no matter how proficient management. Edit-No matter what we do food in frig, move sites, bait camper, clean camper daily, scrub the grill after each and every use, we still get German cockroaches! Some neighbors are infested with them and have so much crap stored outside their sites. The neighbors don’t cap off their sewers when leaving, admit to have infestations, and just seem to be okay living with them. While it’s serene and peaceful here you will be miserable and lose sleep over this roach infestation. This is not your typical occasional Florida roach here and there. Sleeping with the lights on….

One Star – Resort Style? Not Even Close We stayed in Oak Harbor Park from February to June, and I can confidently say this place is far from the "resort-style" community it claims to be. Yes, it's a 55+ community, but the only thing "luxury" here is the marketing. Let’s start with the so-called amenities. The laundry room and bathhouse are clean, sure—but there’s absolutely nothing “resort” about them. There's a community room with some board games, a TV, and a random mix of donated books. There’s also a room with a pool table and an outdoor shuffleboard court. Basic, not luxury. As you enter through the gate—if it’s working—you’re immediately greeted by the waste station and a debris pile. Sure, there’s a privacy fence... for the neighbors outside the park. We, the residents, get the full view. On the opposite side is a beautiful firepit area with seating... and the unmistakable stench of sewage. Nothing like roasting marshmallows while smelling burning wood and raw waste. The large dog park and the oak tree orchard are nice touches, as is the smaller second dog park nearby. But the overall look of the community quickly fades as you drive past the vehicle storage lot. You're allowed one vehicle per spot unless you're randomly favored, then two is magically allowed. In that lot, there’s a trailer with four old tires and what looks like an oil pan cover, which I’m pretty sure belongs to Tammy, the manager. It's a real eyesore. Drive a little further and you'll spot a home with a jungle of mismatched potted plants completely covering the front yard—no rhyme or reason, just chaos. Then, just before the office, you get to admire a dump trailer, a bobcat, and some sort of compactor—resort vibes, right? Several docks in the community are broken down and dangerously unstable. And if you drive by to the canal on the opposite side corner site enjoy the knee-high grass that no one seems to maintain. My husband mows our grass weekly just to keep our site looking decent because the park lawn maintenance is not often enough to keep it manicured But God forbid he moves a vehicle to do so—you'll get a passive-aggressive manager stopping and staring out from her Hummer window. Speaking of the manager: smiles in public, but double standards in practice. We were told they charge $50 to keep our mailbox key, while others weren’t charged unless they didn’t return it before departing. That’s not a rule—that’s selective enforcement. And don’t even get me started on how other sites openly have two vehicles while we’re scolded for having the same—unless you’re on the “favorites” list. We’re even helping water a neighbor's flowers while they’re away, and in exchange, we were allowed to park a second car at their site. But the manager took issue with that too. Meanwhile, 3–4 other sites have two vehicles full time, with no issues raised. To be fair, the lake views and wildlife are beautiful. But they don't outweigh the constant mosquitoes, deer flies, biting insects, and most of all—the unprofessional management and uneven enforcement of rules. Bottom line: we follow rules. We just expect everyone else to be held to the same standard. If you're looking for a truly resort-style 55+ community, look elsewhere.

The location and setting is very nice, but the management was very rude and unprofessional. One of the lady’s in the office is an angel. But, I had a simple misunderstanding and broke one of the rules, and the other lady that helps run the place was so rude and distasteful towards me. I was being very respectful and well mannered, and she was interrupting me as I was trying to talk to her, wouldn’t let me speak, talking down to me in a rude and aggressive manner like I was ignorant child, and just being very very rude and condescending. It was a very uprofessional experience and it definitely did not give off that southern hospitality/welcoming feel that Florida used to have before. Dont let this ruin your plans for your Florida vacation, this place is still full of good southern people that want you to feel welcomed. I made a simple mistake that could have easily been fixed with a simple respectful adult conversation, but she must have taken it very personal. I have heard from multiple residents that they have had this same type of problem here with her. I have not been loud or a nusance in any kind of way, so I don’t know why she was so upset over the situation and took it so personal. So, if you enjoy being talked to in that type of manner, this is definitely the place for you!

Beutiful location, with a lot of potential. The park lacks amenities and seems more suited for seniors. Families with young children might not feel comfortable, as it’s clear the community caters more to older adults.

Oak Harbor RV Park is undeniably a beautiful and peaceful location, perfect for those looking to simply relax and enjoy nature. The park itself is well-maintained and has a lot of potential to be a top-tier destination for RV travelers. However, during our stay, we didn’t feel particularly welcomed. While the park is full of long-term residents who were, for the most part, unwelcoming, they have a sense of ownership. Also there is a lack of clear distinction between visitors and residents. This sometimes created a sense of discomfort, especially for guests unfamiliar with the community’s dynamics. It would be helpful if management considered designating a specific area for short-term visitors. Additionally, clearer signage—such as for golf cart use or community rules—would improve the overall experience. The park offers few amenities, making it ideal for those looking to disconnect and enjoy a slower pace. That said, it’s not the most family-friendly spot. It appears to be primarily a senior community, and unfortunately, it did not feel particularly welcoming to families with small children. Outsiders dogs are also not very welcome. Overall, Oak Harbor RV Park has great potential thanks to its natural beauty and quiet atmosphere. With a few changes in management approach and communication, it could become a much more inclusive and enjoyable destination for all types of visitors.

We came here for a friends birthday celebration instead of going to a hotel. We were pleasantly surprised with how lovely, peaceful and welcoming this resort/RV park is. We stayed in a “tiny house” on the water front. It was neat, clean and equipped with everything you needed. I would highly recommend staying here instead of a hotel for sure! It was cheaper than the local hotels as well. It was a win win for us. Thank you Oak Harbor🥂
