We called last minute and were able to get in for a night while traveling. They were so nice on the phone and greeted us when we arrived even though it was late. The campground was so clean and well kept with plenty of trees and a couple ponds. It had plenty of pull through sites and they found one long enough that we didn’t have to unhook so we could leave early. We would stop there again!

⭐ 1 Star – Camping with the Campground Karen™ We thought we booked a campsite. Turns out, we accidentally signed up for Karen’s Academy of Overreaction™. We arrived while the sun was still out. Kids ran to the playground. Enter Stage Left: Karen’s Minion. “Not on my watch!” Playground: shut down. Okay, bikes then? Nope — banned too. By 8:40, our kids were standing in a gravel lot like they’d just been put in time-out by the Fun Police. At 10:00 p.m., Creepy Patrol Guy made his rounds, sneaking around like a knockoff mall cop. At 10:01, he informed us that our tiny RV storage light was an international emergency. Light off, happiness off, fun off. Then came 10:30. The main act. The Owner herself. Picture a Karen so dramatic she could win an Emmy for “Best Performance in a Complaint.” She creeps out of the dark, screeching about our “noise level” — which at that moment consisted of two parents quietly chatting while their kids were asleep. She instantly went from 0 to “I’m calling the police” faster than you can say s’mores. Also extra points for flapping arms while we sit quietly in lawn chairs while she hovers over and yells at us to be quiet. Haha. Imagine that call: “Hello, police? There’s a family here… sitting near a fire… being suspiciously pleasant. Please come tuck them in before things get out of hand.” We weren’t loud. We weren’t partying. But Karen delivered her monologue like she was shutting down Coachella. Full drama, zero chill. If Shakespeare wrote a play about buzzkills, she’d be the lead. So if you’re into camping with Orwellian rules, creepy patrols, and being scolded by the High Priestess of Overreaction, this is your spot. Otherwise, run. Campground motto: “Where fun is prohibited, and the boss is always watching.” Also for some reason they don't like kids. (Or old people judging by the other reviews) Attached is a quick photo of the "no playing after dark" moment

We had a family reunion, picnic style. We were only there for a few hours so many just involved family, each brought a dish to pass so nothing to report on there. It was a beautiful location, well kept. Clean restrooms. There were no rooms. It was bring your own RV or tent.

This place is ridiculous. So you are aware that we are not loud boisterous people, I encourage you to read the other reviews which state the same information. While the facilities are nice, the staff are unbearable. We arrived at 8:30pm while the sun had barely set, and our children were not allowed to use the play structure. When they switched to riding bikes, the park staff wouldn’t let them do that either. There are so many rules that are strictly enforced. If you don’t want to go to bed at 10pm and are used to relaxing by the fire, think again. At 10 pm sharp, there is a man that patrols the campground and monitors you. We were told we had to turn off our outdoor lights (which were dim mini Chinese lanterns), while at the same time we were parked beside the main office with giant flood lights. The worst part of the experience was that by 10:30pm the owners scolded us at our campfire for being too loud (again read the other reviews and that will confirm that we are not some loud young people that party all night). When we countered their assertion that our volume was disrespectful, they threatened to call the police and have them force us to bed! I know it sounds like fiction but it’s true. So, unless you want to experience what it is like to live in a surveillance state, I would recommend you avoid this place. Brutal!

If I could give it 10 stars I would. I've been full time for 3 years and Oak Park ranks amongst my top 3 fav spots. The staff are remarkably kind, helpful and have a sense of humor. The grounds are manicured and shaded. Plenty of trails and places to walk my dog. Pool is nice, heated by a big wood fired stove. Pizza and wood delivery to your site. So many activities planned for kids. Even on the weekend when it was full of families with kids it was serene and peaceful. Will def be back. The grounds are so lovely. There's a big pond there with a paddle boat you can use. Zen like surroundings.

I love this campground soooo much, it is so much fun for kids especially. They have a pool, playground, and special events every weekend, it's unlike any campground we've been to. They have "strict" rules which are very fair in my opinion, they just ask that you aren't super loud and you keep your outdoor lights off. Having these rules are super nice because we can have peace around the fire at night.

This is a very pretty, well-maintained campground with a friendly, helpful staff. The sites are wooded and shaded. Currently, there is road construction which results in campers entering on a dirt road. The dirt road is not bad - just go slow. The bathrooms are dated but clean. Other reviewers said the pool was a mess - not true. Yes, the pool needs to be painted on the bottom (and if I were the owners, I'd do that ASAP), and yes, there are cracks in the cement around the pool, but the pool is clean and perfectly usable. Not the Campground's fault, but the mosquitoes were HORRIBLE! We would be happy to return.

Great place to stop with the kids, or for the night to sleep. Family oriented beautiful site with great people working here. That’ll help you with anything. We had a last-minute change of plans ended up having to drive back across country with the whole family in an rv with no plans and the staff at Oak Park kampground kept the doors open an extra half hour for us to get in and guided us off the highway through the detours because of roadwork, but let me tell you it was worth it. Very relaxing chill environment! With all the amenities.

Stayed here in our 39 foot class a motorhome while riding the Central Lakes Trail. Very clean, quiet, full hook ups, and yes, there are fair amount of rules, but it made for a very enjoyable stay for us. The bottom of the pool could maybe use a paint job, but it was clean and heated. Very refreshing after a day riding the Central Lakes trail. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

The campground is located out in a rural area, except for not far from I94. You can hear the cars from the freeway but it isn’t as bad as a lot of campgrounds can be. The property is well kept. The pull through site was adequate for our 42 1/2 foot 5th wheel. Although we didn’t use it, the pool seemed to be falling in disrepair. The bathrooms were clean but outdated. A few miles from the campground there is a nice paved rail to trail that we biked on which was pretty nice. There is a nice little nature path to check out. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The park itself is quiet and peaceful.

This will be one of your best camping experiences! It was for us. The sites are shady, full hook up. The pool is a good size and the playground was so enjoyed by our granddaughter. The owners are so helpful. They run a tight ship but it was perfect for us! Quiet time is 10 pm and they mean it!! Well stocked camp store and they deliver to your site wood and ice!!. Super clean bathrooms. It is 5 minutes off I 94 and is just west of Alexandria MN. Our son was married at a lake cabin near there. So convenient! Hope we have a reason to go back!!

This is a family friendly, fun, and very relaxing RV park. Janet and the entire staff are so friendly and accommodating. The staff meticulously cleans and maintains the park. I’ve stayed here many times and look forward to many more. This is one of my absolute favorite spots. Many organized activities for adults and kids alike. I read some of the negative reviews and had to chuckle. If you’re a bunch of 20 somethings looking to party all night with your softball team, this is not the place for you. The owners are not afraid to enforce the common sense and reasonable rules for the enjoyment of all. Thank goodness! Fortunately, it’s rarely a problem. Thank you Oak Park staff! Absolutely love this place.
