Country ranch atmosphere. No showers, so make arrangements, like shower off at the beach. Lots of shade trees.

Hidden little park on a campground...? The playground equipment is sketchy-the slide is metal, and the swings look like they've seen better days. It's very dusty and dry. There are big beautiful trees that provide shade. There is a nice basketball court, though, and the bathroom i went into looks decent and was actually pretty clean. There are random benches throughout the park. And a covered patio area.

We have a rather large 5th wheel. We are always aware of the surroundings as we are traveling. When we got to Oak Park, we noticed that there were a lot of trees, so we were on the lookout. Needless to say, one tree got us! It took out 2 of our ac units! As we were looking at the damage, another camper came out and said the same thing had happened to him earlier that morning! Why aren't those trees trimmed back? Or maybe a warning sign...low branch...look out! When I reported this to the park ranger, he replied that it says in their description that there are many trees! My husband and I were displeased with their handling of this situation. RVs beware of low hanging branches!

Campground was nice and clean. What you would expect from a county park. Sites were a good size and fairly level. The train wasn't an issue for us. You did hear it but it didn't shake the trailer or cause major discomfort. We stayed in the lower campground sites 15 and 16 for one night.

Well maintained Ventura County Park. Large sites on the lower lot, lots of shade trees. Water and power hook ups, no sewer. We stay here frequently because our adult kids live near. We prefer the lower lot. Amtrak, Metrolink and freight trains run 18+ hours a day very nearby, otherwise it’s very quiet and feels safe all the time.

PROS - Flat camping slots with full hookups (back in only). Easy registration process. CONS - Lower camping area is against the train tracks. Trains come through numerous times during the night and blare horns. Bathrooms have three stalls and one sink, no showers. Bathrooms had not been cleaned for some time. Steps up to bathrooms had a dead vole and were littered with debris from the trees (more than expected) which presented possible tripping/slipping hazard.

Nice little camping area with lots of pinic tables and enclosed sites for rent.

Need little more care on the maintenance. Campground have sewer hookups BUT they are "sealed close" not sure why.... Campground for RV only. 30 Amp power & water. Dump station at extra fee. Bathrooms very old and no showers. $26/night
