Attended FRVA camping rally here (Nov. 2025). Location perfect (lots of sites and big rig accommodating...tho roads a bit tight for 2 to pass...timing is everything. And close to everything - beach, restaurants, ice cream, golf, fishing, dolphin excursions, state parks, arts & culture, etc.) Security is serious and attentive. Rest of staff friendly, too. Biggest complaint wad disconnect between staff & management regarding prior logistical arrangements (outside vendors, signage, etc.)

Did not rent through Ocean Lakes- rented through private owners. Always have a wonderful time at Ocean Lakes and if I did have a concern they have addressed it immediately. They have so many wonderful things to - you don't even have to leave the grounds for anything if you didn't want to. From food, laundry, gift shop, golf cart rentals, mail services, water park, arcade, doggy park/ bathing, and the beach... probably more and I can't think of it all right now. Excellent place for singles, couples, family, or even a group of friends!

We love Ocean Lakes. You may see people complain about the rules or issues with crime. This has simply not been true for us and we frequently camp here. We store our trailer and love the family fun activities there as well as the ability to drive our golf cart around. Highly recommend it! We have also stayed both Airbnb and thru ocean lakes properties at several beach homes there. I would recommend using ocean lakes properties. Many great homes to stay at within the campgrounds. The ocean and beach areas are very nice as well as the public bath houses.

Ocean Lakes is a trip that we all look forward to going every year. It really does feel like in the name (Family) when you go. We currently go 2 times a year, but may starting going 3 times a year. You can let your kids be on their own with no worries. Security is always out, and we rarely see any issues. The golf cart is a must try it is one of the things we enjoy the most. You can go to the campground and never have to leave on your trip.

Been coming here with my family for years now and we love it! Staff is overall friendly, place is clean well maintained. Food is good and the little mart is cute and bout has everything you would need. Arcade is huge and has endless games. Pools are nice and big. Can rent a golf cart to get around and you need it cause this place is huge! Also feel safe while I’m here. Definitely recommend for any family.

I really enjoyed this place. The water park was closed but this was a last minute, early April, still really cold, trip for my birthday weekend... we really enjoyed ourselves though. Campsite was roomy enough for what we expected to have with a basically-beach-front campground. Our lot was close to the water. Sites weren't too expensive. And there was a ton of stuff to do. They pick up your trash every morning. Very busy! The game room was better than any other game room we've had at any other rv park. Although, everything else was a little expensive ($18 for 2 little 1 scoop ice creams, 1 little 2 scoops, & a little bag of dipping dots is a tad ridiculous). No out -of-state license required to fish their campground ponds, as long as you release catches. The nightly golf cart parade was cute... our group was 9 people, ages 5 to almost 40, & we all enjoyed ourselves. We came with some friends, both in campers, & we had a great time. Just a great family campground.

So nice, so clean. The beach is perfect, the staff is amazing! A security guard even stopped us to give our dogs treats! We rented a house but the RV spots look super nice too! The perfect place to stay if you want to visit Myrtle Beach. We'll definitely be back!!

Family vacation time? Head over to ocean lakes and find a nice beach house for the week. Reasonable price and the neighborhood is friendly. It’s lively during the day but not too loud at night. It’s been perfect for my teens on spring break.

Very reasonable off season rate for being right off the beach. Nice spacious pull through site. This is a true RV resort, with homes/rentals sprinkled in, but easy in and out overall. Would recommend getting a paved site to avoid getting everything full of sand. Laundry facility is massive with coin op washers and dryers, change machine on site. If we had children this place would be the spot. Overall wonderful place to stay while visiting Myrtle Beach.

2018:One of the best vacations. We had a blast! We hardly left the place during our stay. What a great place. We will definitely be back. Update2021: we come every year now. Renting a golf cart is a must. My children never get tired of the water park. We have stayed in a few different houses but we prefer the MH district. It's more spaced out and not so heavily traveled. My only complaint is THEY SHOULD PUT UP LOTS MORE NO SMOKING SIGNS 🚭. Smoking shouldn't even be permitted near the meet and eat. Gross.. and the beach should have a no smoking section. I mean more and more people are choosing clean lungs now day let's help those people stay healthy
