Oceanside in Haines. AK- not sure there is a better location- anywhere. I had emailed park and Manager Jim emailed me back in Nov. When confirmed in March, Jim said I've arranged to have everything set up for you after you get off the ferry( in the middle of the night). He opened the park about a week earlier than he normally does to accommodate our wishes- 5 stars + !!!! Bathrooms and inside area to sit/relax and see the beautiful mountains around you- over the top! Thanks so much!

Unforgettable Stay with Breathtaking Views! We had the pleasure of visiting Oceanside RV Park from May 28, 2024, for a 3-night stay—and it was an experience we’ll never forget! We arrived via ferry from Skagway to Haines and were completely blown away by the scenery along the way. Little did we know that the incredible views would continue right at our RV site! The park is perfectly situated on the stunning Chilkoot Inlet, and our RV spot backed directly onto the ocean. Waking up to those views was like living in a postcard. The staff welcomed us with warm smiles and genuine friendliness—it felt like reconnecting with old friends. The entire RV park is well-paved, clean, and level, with easy-to-access full hookups. Out of all the places we’ve stayed, this spot easily ranks in our Top 3. We spent hours just soaking in the panoramic views across the water, watching eagles perch on the jetty each morning and cruise ships glide by in the distance. Pure relaxation. Haines itself is a quaint little town, and while we visited early in the season and some places were still closed, we found gems like the Outdoor/Tackle Shop—staffed by incredibly knowledgeable locals who are happy to share tips and directions to the best fishing spots. While we originally planned to fish, we ended up spending our time exploring the area instead—and we’re glad we did. Don’t miss the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve while you're here! Final Thoughts: If you're looking for a peaceful, scenic spot to unwind, a waterfront site at Oceanside RV Park is the perfect choice. It's the ideal place to pause your journey, breathe in the fresh air, and take in Alaska’s natural beauty. P.S. If you're continuing up the Haines Highway—get ready! The drive is absolutely spectacular.

Beautiful views and outstanding facilities in downtown Haines We stayed 2 nights. The park is right on the water, which is surrounded by beautiful mountains. It is walking distance to anything in the town. The facilities were outstanding. The sites are wide and paved. The bathrooms were clean and modern. The showers ($2 for 6 min) are spacious, the hardware easy to operate, the water warm and shower steam is good. There is an inside clubhouse that would be great if the weather is bad. The service was also very good. We came back one day and our site was occupied by a camper who got their mistakenly a day early. We called and the resolved quickly and magnanimously. The only downside is that it is farther from the two State parks. So, if you want to see those you will need to drive. On the other hand, if you stay near those and want things in town you will need to drive. We would definitely stay again.

My stay started as one day, which turned into two then three days. I would've happily stayed a week if my schedule allowed. The location of the park is perfect for enjoying the waterfront views and walking to the local attractions around town. I typically prefer a more natural, secluded tent site when I'm camping. Oceanside has a small grassy area for tents to share on one side of the RV park. This ended up being great because it's directly on the water with a spectacular view. It also encouraged a social atmosphere at the park, so I got to hang out with a lot of interesting people. The whole park seems to have been designed to foster a community feeling. This is not surprising as the couple who runs it is nice and friendly. The club house is a definite perk of this RV park. It's a beautiful building with wifi and plenty of room to sit. The bathrooms and laundry are in the club house. Both spaces are well-kept. My only recommendation would be to add a dish sink to the club house. Washing dishes at the faucet in the camping area is not ideal.

It's all about the location and this RV Park has the best views and close proximity to town. We splurged and got an ocean view site which included full hookups. Check in was easy. You can walk to town for restaurants, groceries, museums and stores. The best part was sitting outside in the evening, even when the wind was blowing crazy cold, and taking in the stunning views. Kids took the trail to the beach at low tide to play. Bonus - Great building with bathrooms, laundry and really nice couches for a place to get out of the weather or to work from. Be warned, ocean front real estate is prime for RV parks and as such, they try to accommodate as many RVs as possible. Spaces were plenty wide for units with double slides, but you can definitely hear your neighbors conversation. If this isn't you, maybe try elsewhere, but we took it as an opportunity to be social and get some great tips of places to visit in Alaska.
