Established during the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, this destination retains a historic rustic charm that sets it apart from modern commercial resorts. It is a place where the pace of life slows down, allowing RVers to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Upstate.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in the far northwestern corner of the state, the park is nestled within the lush Sumter National Forest. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rolling hills, dense hardwoods, and cool mountain breezes that provide a welcome escape from the summer heat. The park’s secluded feel makes it a true mountain retreat far from the noise of interstate traffic.

The park offers a variety of camping options with spacious RV sites equipped with water and electrical hookups. Walked the hidden falls trail and it was beautiful. Trail was fairly easy. Waterfall not much to view since no recent rains.

This is such a family-friendly and nice campsite. My sister and I went with our dogs this last weekend. I was very surprised on how clean the bathrooms are. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, giving a warm inviting feel to the campground. They even have square dancing on Fridays, I remember them also having that when I was a kid, wish I would have gone last week! They have a gift shop, trails, a swimming area, even Putt-Putt! There's a lot of things that other campsites do not have that you will find here. Perfect for kids! We will be back again soon

Beautiful campground. Sites are ok, No privacy, Not level, some are oddly set up, nicely shaded, bugs not bad for a hot, humid, rainy, visit. There is a great tent area secluded down a trail for party campers to be away from quiet campers, however no hookups, no water, and must carry supplies to sites down a long trail, a group of young males seemed to enjoy it. Fishing lake was beautiful but no one caught any fish the week we were there. Swimming lake was nice, even a place for dogs to swim. Several playgrounds. The store was huge and well stocked with supplies and souvenirs. Nice walking trails in the campground as well as a couple with waterfalls not far(walking distance) from the campground. Staff was very friendly. Mini golf course was cute. They offer free sports equipment to borrow. You can rent kayaks, rowboats, paddle boards, and paddle boats for a reasonable price. You can rent fishing equipment and they sell tackle. The have a free little library section in the store to borrow books while you're there. Bathrooms are dated but clean. Shower stalls are a curtain not a locking door. Supposed to be an arcade but we didnt see one. They have a couple daily scavenger hunts.

Very clean with lots to offer, wish the camping sites were bigger but to be experienced. Enjoyed the morning trash pickup, helps keep the area clean. Did I mention the pineapple slush are the office /shop :) Also lots to do around the surrounding area.

This is a beautiful and must visit park in the Fall!! The views and the atmosphere is divine. The trails were great and the people that camped around us were a delight. FYI… there is zero connection up here so bring your board games or books. There is wi-fi in the front office if you want to text or check messages other than that, it is you and the wilderness. Nonetheless, if we are camping it is to relax and unwind and this place will do it. They have bathrooms and showers which is great. At night, this place was super quiet. Also to note, there are this flying black bugs, but, once we started a fire, they kinda did their own thing. Overall, I would visit here again.
