Okanogan-Wenatchee/Hause Creek
Overview
Hause Creek Campground offers a serene escape within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Located along the banks of the scenic Tieton River in Naches, WA, this destination provides a classic Pacific Northwest camping experience. Managed by the U.S. Forest Service, it serves as a peaceful base for those looking to immerse themselves in nature. The park is characterized by its towering trees, clean mountain air, and the soothing sounds of the nearby rushing water, making it a favorite for travelers seeking a quiet forest retreat.
Location & Surroundings
The park is nestled in the Naches Ranger District, where the dry climate of Eastern Washington meets the lush greenery of the Cascade Range. Visitors are surrounded by Ponderosa pines and Douglas firs, with dramatic basalt cliffs rising in the distance. Its position along Highway 12 makes it easily accessible while still feeling secluded from the bustle of city life. The nearby Rimrock Lake adds to the majestic landscape, offering expansive water views and additional recreational opportunities just a short drive from your campsite.
Amenities & Park Features
As a traditional forest service site, the focus here is on a rustic atmosphere rather than modern luxuries. The park features paved parking spurs suitable for various RV lengths, though it is important to note there are no hookups available. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring for evening gatherings. On-site facilities include:
- Vault toilets that are well-maintained during the season.
- Access to potable water through shared hand pumps or spigots.
- Direct river access for wading or shore fishing.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to explore, from whitewater rafting on the Tieton River to hiking the numerous trails in the surrounding wilderness. Fishing is a popular pastime, with the river providing ample opportunities to catch local trout. The White Pass Scenic Byway offers incredible driving tours with photo-worthy vistas, while birdwatchers can spot various species nesting in the canyon walls. In September, the annual dam release transforms the river into a premier destination for adventurous paddlers and rafters.
Who This Park Is Best For
This location is ideal for travelers who prefer dry camping and tranquility over resort-style amenities. It is a perfect fit for self-contained RVers who enjoy being disconnected from the digital world and reconnected with the outdoors. Families looking for a classic forest adventure and anglers or rafters seeking direct river access will find Hause Creek to be a rewarding destination for their next Washington road trip. Good campground. The spot we picked was right next to the road which made it hard to sleep at night. But theres lots to do nearby. Fun overall. Wish i took more photos but this is the only one i got. There were lots of bugs as you can expect on any camping trip! but i didn’t get any mosquito bites. :)

Very nice during the week. Seemed to be full for the weekend. Laurie was cleaning the camp sites and was very nice and helpful. Toliets were very clean.

Super clean every time we've gone. Pit toilets always clean. Quiet unless along highway 12 sites. River access from some sites. Check it out. Larger trailers look at 39 to 42 area

fun campground! Bathrooms were mostly clean, host was super friendly, fun to fish on the river. Super hot by 9am, impossible to sleep past then without suffocating in your tent. Overall, good location, easy drive to the lake, would come again!

Great campground. My kids had a great time. The mosquitoes weren’t bad either. There’s a little store less than 5 minutes away that sells some basic supplies and ice. Cell service was intermittent at best, we have t mobile.
