Old River Road RV Resort

Overview

Old River Road RV Resort provides a modern and polished camping experience in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Designed with a contemporary aesthetic, this resort offers travelers a clean and organized environment that bridges the gap between traditional RVing and high-end hospitality. Guests can expect well-maintained grounds and a layout that emphasizes both spaciousness and accessibility for all types of rigs, ensuring a stress-free arrival and a high-quality stay in a welcoming atmosphere.

Location & Surroundings

Situated on the outskirts of Kerrville, the park is ideally positioned near the scenic Guadalupe River. The surrounding landscape features the signature rolling hills and limestone bluffs that define this unique region of Texas. While the resort feels secluded enough to offer a peaceful retreat from the noise of the highway, it remains conveniently close to local conveniences and major roadways, making it a reliable base camp for those exploring the wider Hill Country area.

Amenities & Park Features

The facility is built to accommodate modern RV standards, featuring wide concrete pads and full hookups at every site. The park includes several premium features designed for comfort and community:

  • A resort-style swimming pool and hot tub for year-round relaxation.
  • A modern fitness center and a clubhouse designed for community gatherings and social events.
  • Clean, climate-controlled laundry facilities and private shower suites for guest convenience.

For those traveling with pets, the dedicated dog park provides a safe and fenced space for four-legged companions to stretch their legs after a long day on the road.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Kerrville offers a rich blend of cultural and outdoor activities just minutes from the resort. Visitors are only a short drive from the Museum of Western Art and the historic downtown district, which is filled with local boutiques and gourmet eateries. Nature enthusiasts can enjoy the paved Kerrville River Trail or take a short trip to Fredericksburg for world-class wineries. The nearby river access also provides ample opportunities for kayaking and fishing in the clear Texas waters.

Who This Park Is Best For

This resort is an excellent choice for big-rig owners and seasonal travelers who prioritize modern infrastructure and resort-style comforts. It appeals to retirees looking for a high-quality winter destination as well as families who want a clean, safe environment with active amenities like the pool and fitness center. We stayed here on a friend’s recommendation for a month mid January-mid February. The resort is well managed, clean and friendly. We had no issues and especially welcomed the advice of the maintenance crew during a below freezing stretch of weather. This is a central location surrounded by many sites and destinations, especially if you ride motorcycles. We enjoyed our time and would certainly recommend it.

Great park!! Friendly staff that really goes above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable and pleasurable as possible. Amenities are well maintained and very clean. Sites are spacious and beautiful trees planted everywhere. The park is great for the entire family, the play ground is amazing and covered to ensure the fun doesn’t have to stop due to the heat. Awesome jump pad and two pools including an indoor heated one and a splash pad for the Littles. Great events at the holidays, and winter activities. They also have cozy cabins supplies with all of your needs to relax. Affordable rates all around. We would definitely recommend this place.

Was considering booking rv site here based on RV Life recommendation. Glad I looked at Google reviews and all the comments regarding rude office staff. There's too many for this to be an occasional issue therefore won't even bother to consider this place!

This is our home location for four months of the year. We have been coming here since 2020. The staff is great. The property and facilities very clean. Great community room. Two pools

Unfortunately their front office is very poor. Not friendly, dont return phone calls, no return messages on FB. Even during 7/4/2025 flood when campers experienced evacuation, their FB page said all campers accounted for yet we never heard from them even after repeated calls when their phones were working! Not just the flood, it’s been this way for a long time. Old system, very keen on reading you their rules, not friendly, don’t answer the phone, etc. Maybe more staff is needed at front desk, two people is not enough! BAD VIBES.
