Situated among towering Jeffrey pines, this campground provides a serene atmosphere that emphasizes a connection with nature. The surroundings are characterized by lush alpine vegetation, offering a cool climate even during the peak of summer, perfect for those who enjoy fresh mountain air.

Amenities & Park Features

As a traditional forest service campground, the focus remains on the outdoor experience rather than extensive resort-style hookups. The site features paved spurs designed to accommodate a variety of RV sizes, though guests should check specific site dimensions in advance. Essential amenities include potable water spigots, vault toilets, and fire rings for evening campfires. While it lacks full hookups, the location provides a functional base for campers who value simplicity and authentic, off-grid-style adventure.

The campground serves as an excellent jumping-off point for exploring the Mammoth Lakes Basin, known for its pristine alpine lakes and extensive hiking trail network. Nearby attractions like the Devils Postpile National Monument and the dramatic Rainbow Falls remain accessible for day trips that highlight the geologic wonders of the region.

Great place to camp, water is in the campground, but not at the campsites. Water is located near about every four sites. Big pine tree, flush toilets and clean. Cell service is good.

Even though you’re literally minutes walking from town, it feels like you’re outside. Nice sites with running water in the bathrooms

Loved this campground! We stayed for 10 days and still did not get to see or visit all the places we wanted to. Amazing Camp Host , Mike and Trudy answered every question with kindness, helped in directing us to some of the best trails, restaurants and more. Clean restrooms, dog friendly, fire pit, picnic table, good size bear box, hiking trails right out your door, shopping near by. We will defiantly be back.

One of the best camping places in Mammoth lakes. Well maintained and close to the town. The toilets were clean and had good lighting. Would love to come again next year :)
