It’s very calm, peaceful and very quiet, not a fan of the service, we told the staff to cut the grass around our Rv but when we arrived to the Rv the window was broken and there was a rock inside, so we told the ladies at the main office but they didn’t care and one of our family members had stayed at this Rv park before and got his boots stollen. I would come back but I wouldn’t ask the staff to do lawn maintenance or anything else, if I need something I would just do it myself.

What a friendly Staff, Close to shopping but very quiet surroundings. Loved the Butterfly Gardens and all the different trees and bushes that make it just a beautiful place to stay. We stayed in one of the rentals and were very pleased with it.

I got lucky. Arrived on a wet, cold day coming from Austin and stopped at the Love's Truck Stop in Edinburgh on the north side to research where I would start my full-timing adventure. Never been to the Texas Valley area and was looking for a reasonable price. I had a list of three spots based on a Google maps search of the area. I happened to call Oleander Acres first due to the fact that they had a deal where the first 2 night stay would be credited to a longer stay - sounded good to me. Read somewhere that you don't want to commit to a long term before trying a night or two so I chose the two night stay. The next day I drove around the area to see what else was available and realized that the location on the south side of Mission was away from highway noise and since my first nights were pleasant I opted for a month. It is not listed as a 55+ community, but it is low key w/o few kids running around. Many permanent park models, nice meeting hall, and helpful staff. Met some really nice neighbors, and as I was down on the south end at one of the last spots (#377) it was rather secluded. Just got back from a stroll through the community garden where vegetables were growing - reminded me of the gardens at Sun City in Georgetown where I came from. And then I discovered the Butterfly Garden with all the native plants well signed. What a beautiful place, and it shows that the private ownership cares. No pool, no shuffleboard or pickleball courts, but plenty of organized events if that is your thing. Currently, the monthly rate is $420, so less the 2-night credit had me in for $320 for the month plus electricity (a bit spendy at 0.18 per KWH). After that it is $20/night for a partial month....reasonable. I am a happy camper.
