Onoville Marina Park
Overview
Onoville Marina Park serves as a premier destination for travelers seeking a deep connection with the Allegheny Reservoir. Managed by Cattaraugus County, this expansive park is nestled within the Enchanted Mountains of Western New York. It offers a unique blend of a large-scale marina and a peaceful campground setting. The atmosphere is centered on the water, providing a refreshing escape for those who enjoy vast shorelines and lush, wooded landscapes. The park provides a sprawling layout that allows visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the region without feeling crowded.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in Steamburg, NY, the park is bordered by the Allegheny National Forest and the territories of the Seneca Nation of Indians. The geography is characterized by deep waters and steep, forested hills that provide a secluded feel. While the park feels miles away from civilization, it remains conveniently accessible via Interstate 86, making it a manageable destination for RVers navigating the southern tier of New York. This unique location allows for exploration by water, as the reservoir extends across the state line into Pennsylvania.
Amenities & Park Features
The heart of the park is its four-hundred-plus boat slips and multiple launch ramps, catering specifically to the boating community. RV travelers will find designated campsites equipped with electric hookups to power their rigs. While full sewer hookups are not available at individual sites, the park provides a central dump station and fresh water fill for convenience. Other essential features include well-maintained shower facilities, a laundry room, and plenty of picnic areas for group gatherings.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Activity revolves around the reservoir, where visitors enjoy fishing for walleye and northern pike. Boaters can explore miles of undeveloped shoreline or spend the day swimming in the clear water. Off the water, guests can visit the Seneca Iroquois National Museum in nearby Salamanca to learn about local indigenous history and culture. For those seeking additional land-based recreation, Allegany State Park is a short drive away, offering miles of paved bike paths and rugged hiking trails through old-growth forests.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for boaters and anglers who want their vessel just steps from their campsite. It is a perfect fit for RVers who prefer a rustic, nature-focused environment over a commercial resort. If you value quiet evenings by the fire and days spent on the water, this park provides the right balance. It is also an excellent choice for wildlife photographers hoping to spot bald eagles nesting along the reservoir banks or deer wandering through the wooded campsites.

This time of the year the water level is down. However you can see the beauty in the Gorgeous nature we have. The parking lot needs some work but it's excellent for launching your boat in the summer time. Very peaceful up in Onoville.

Onoville Marina is a nice marina and Kinzue is a beautiful place! I would give Onoville a 5 star but they can really use some new boards on their walkway where you put your boats in! I almost fell walking down to get on my boat on a loose board! I'm not posting this to be mean but to help the Marina.
