Oregon Trail Campground

Overview

Oregon Trail Campground offers a classic camping experience in the heart of Idaho's Magic Valley. This long-standing park is widely known for its mature shade trees and peaceful atmosphere, providing a welcome respite for travelers navigating the high desert. Whether you are stopping for a quick overnight stay or remaining for several days to explore local geological wonders, the park provides a reliable and comfortable base with a vintage charm that honors the historic region.

Location & Surroundings

Situated on the eastern edge of Twin Falls, the park is conveniently located on Kimberly Road. This strategic placement allows for easy access to the city's diverse dining and shopping options while remaining just a short drive from the majestic Snake River Canyon. The surrounding area is characterized by vast agricultural lands and dramatic basalt cliffs, offering a unique landscape that defines southern Idaho and makes for scenic evening strolls near the park.

Amenities & Park Features

The facility is well-equipped to handle modern RV needs with full hookup sites available in both 30 and 50-amp configurations. Many sites are designed as spacious pull-throughs to accommodate larger rigs and tow vehicles without the stress of difficult maneuvering. Guests can enjoy access to essential on-site features including:

  • Clean restrooms and private showers
  • On-site laundry facilities
  • High-speed Wi-Fi access
  • Pet-friendly walking areas

These features ensure that every traveler has the basic comforts of home while enjoying the great outdoors.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

No visit to Twin Falls is complete without seeing Shoshone Falls, which is actually taller than Niagara Falls and located just minutes from the campground. For those interested in outdoor recreation, the Perrine Bridge offers breathtaking views of BASE jumpers and the winding river below. You can also explore the Canyon Rim Trail, which provides miles of paved walking and biking paths with stunning vistas of the Snake River, or visit the nearby Dierkes Lake for swimming and rock climbing.

Who This Park Is Best For

This campground is an ideal choice for cross-country road trippers looking for a shady, well-maintained stopover during a long journey. It is particularly well-suited for families and senior travelers who prefer a traditional, quiet campground environment over a crowded resort. Because of its proximity to major scenic landmarks, it is also a perfect fit for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers wanting to maximize their time exploring the falls and the canyon rim.

I stayed here two nights. It's very clean, well organized, and decorated beautifully for the season. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bathrooms with private showers, a play ground and dog park. I highly recommend!

Nice place.. clean safe... usual amenities.. but i would make the suggestion.. maybe put the tent sights off away from the r.v. folks.. nothing more jarring than making up to a truck engine idling for 20 minutes at 7:45am 10 feet from your head..I have a diesel myself.. I get it.. you want to let it warm up.. but maybe crank up and idle out to the open area by the entrance and sit and let it warm up.. but other than that I enjoyed my stay.. I really needed the rest.. im bicycle touring cross country.. and got stuck with health issues in boise.. spent 3 months laying on my side unable to move without severe pain.. and because of my condition and the side effects of pain killers worsening my condition.. I couldn't take anything.. so I've lost all of the muscle id gained rounding the southern and west coast.. and im 150ish miles into finally being back on the ride.. after months waiting.. surgery.. and months of recovery.. and rehab.. I BARELY got out of my tent while i was here🤣😂

Staff was very nice. Laundry facilities open 24/7 is a plus. This campground served its purpose as a central location for the beautiful hiking trails nearby. Bathroom/shower rooms were very spacious but were not very clean and they definitely need to invest the $6.99 (each) in new shower curtains. The campground also had an odor which we couldn’t place.

So this is a sweet little campground. It is small and older, but the owners maintain it with love. Our neighbors were super friendly. I loved the community park near the entrance to the campground. It has softest grass ever and an apricot tree. We didn’t use their facilities as my rug is fully equipped, but they look to be quite new and very clean. And holy cow was it inexpensive! Thanks y’all! 💚

We spent 2.5 ears at this RV park and my experience can be summed up in a simple story: On my way in from work around Memorial Day this year I noticed the daughters of Jake and Hailey (the RV park owners) had a lemonade stand set up under at the entrance. I pulled up and the youngest explained the flavors and asked what I wanted... I, of course ordered the mix of all the flavors, and delighted faces poured my cup full of "the special" and handed it to me. I took a long sip, expressed my delight, and asked how much it cost. They told me one dollar. Wanting to make myself feel good I pulled out a $5 and handed it to them, anticipating their glee at getting such a good tip... and already wondering about what they each would spend it on! They were definitely excited for the tip, and as I proudly pulled away... I heard the youngest explain to the others that "Now we can give the next four cars a free cup of lemonade!!" Totally humbled by a child... but impressed again by their parents. Jake and Hailey, you guys are awesome and I have nothing but positive things to say about our stay at this campground.
