I give it four stars for location. The views in Autumn are spectacular! Nice facility's, level rv pads, firepits, grill available. Be aware of the loop closest to the highway. You will noticeably hear traffic from 5am well into the night.

If you are traveling with a dog or small children, don’t even think about stopping at this place. This campground is easily accessible, just adjacent to the highway. But that is the only thing good about this place. As you can see from the pictures, the goat heads (mini cactus) are everywhere, even right outside your camper door. Very dangerous.to pets and kids. The ones on the white plate I pulled out of my dogs feet. He is now so gun shy he won’t even go take a pee at this place. I guess I was expecting a lot more from a Colorado mountain campground. As you can see from the pictures, it is a desert. No green grass, lots of short cactus everywhere. A terrible place to walk a dog. There is no shade, And no green space anywhere. we have stayed in very nice campgrounds in Gunnison and Colorado Springs. For what this place charges, with no amenities, and horrible cactus, we will not be returning here.

We stayed here Monday night through Wednesday morning, and let me tell you I was so impressed with how clean and well maintained the facilities were even after a holiday weekend. We stayed in loop H, which is a hike in campsite across the river. It's not a long walk, but small trollies are provided to bring up your gear more easily. The river and pond are beautiful and there are walking trails all around of various lengths and difficulties. Dogs are allowed and bear boxes were provided. Every section of this campsite has a designated bath house with flush toilets and running water. There is also a larger bath house by loop G where you can shower for free! They also provide coin operated laundry for guests. Some of the group sites even have access to a massive kitchen area. We met the camp hosts and spoke briefly. They were super friendly and let us say hi to their little dog. 10/10 recommend.

Great view, next to the river. Good amenities. If you’re going to ground tent, consider this your warning. You will get blasted by a firehouse of a sprinkler system at 2am… Otherwise, nice spot

Great location and view! G Loop is nice because you are right above the river and fishing lake. Perfect place if you are traveling with kids and pets. No WiFi and phone signal is meh, but you’re there to enjoy the great outdoors. BRING YOUR FISHING POLES 🎣

Yurts were well furnished, and the heater worked well. Park staff were very helpful when we encountered problems, even after hours by phone.

We were staying in a condo in Ouray and wanted to check out this campground. We met up with a nice Park Ranger, John, who told us about the park and encouraged us to return with our RV. This is something we will do. This is the campground that has full hookups, something I enjoy having. Thanks Ranger John.

Favorite spot to go fishing in this part of Colorado. The river flows all the time due to it coming off the bottom of the dam. This also keeps the water temp very stable and a nice steady food supply so the fish get large and are very healthy.

Very private sites, lot of space, leveled, quiet, and clean. Great access to fishing, biking and nice hikes. 15 minutes to the city and a few minutes from the lake at the other site at the same state park. You can spend days at this campground. T-mobile signal is zero.

Lots of space and things to do...
