Came to Pacific Dunes to get out of the city and get some fresh salty air. The couple that checked us into our tent/yurt were amazing. They had the room ready to go: fireplace ready for a fire to be built, no sand anywhere and perfectly clean. Despite heavy rains this entire week the tent was bone dry throughout the night. The staff suggested some local spots to try out while we were in town, every one was a hit (Galway bay, The Garage) We are already planning our next trip back!

Stayed at PDR during our honeymoon down the coast and overall meh experience. The room was mostly clean however there was no AC or fan readily available. Asked the staff for one and they got me one super quick and the woman was really nice. My biggest gripe however was the water that smelled super metallic (probably sulfur). It was so strong that even after showering the next day I could still smell it on my skin. The WiFi also did not work at all and I had no signal so that was fun. The bed was also very very soft (in a not so comfy way). While our purpose was mostly just a place to sleep, I probably wouldn’t recommend it for a vacay destination.

PDR review Had an amazing time at Pacific Dunes Resort. Seamless communication and check-in process with the hosts. The king suite was as described, clean and well decorated, had the basics for most needs. I love the little community feel of the resort. Access to the beach was a simple, maybe 10 minute walk from lodging. A really thoughtfully designed pathway with a quirky bridge crossing, led to a quiet and serene beachfront. Only additions that could’ve helped make this stay more enjoyable: a hook or additional places to hang clothing in the bedroom. Instructions on how to operate the wall heaters, and updating the knobs as many of the labels had worn off making it hard to determine how to adjust. For travelers: Suggest bringing your own water to the site if you’re not used to the smell of well water often present in coastal towns. The walls are pretty thin in these units and I could hear the very boisterous family next-door, their conversations came in too clear 🤣 would recommend bringing earplugs if you’re a solo traveler like me and enjoy your quiet. Already re-booked and excited to try out the tiny homes— no shared walls!

If you’re looking for elevated camping this is it. My friends and I booked this place for my birthday celebration and had a great time. I got a glamping tent, my sister got a tiny home, and my friends got a van spot. The glamping tent was really spacious and comfortable. The wood stove inside is SMALL so you’ll want to bring something to cut down your wood. The tiny home was great for the kids and folks who wanted a more comfortable experience. It was clean and had most of the amenities from home. Our biggest upset was that NONE of the grills worked. Not the one with my tent, in the community spaces, or in the tiny home. So bring a camp stove just in case. Most of the food we brought couldn’t get used and that was disappointing. Overall it was a good experience and the access to the beach was unbeatable.

Great place to stay! Glamping tents are really cool, but tooo cold. We are locals and stayed 1 night. The stove was a certain size and the wood provided does not fit. So we stayed cold and had no way to cut it to proper length. No sleep was pointless to stay there other than our beach. We walked that in the morning and then got our sleep at home.
