A beautiful and clean park! Camped here a few times and played frisbee golf as well as a lot of fishing. The camp store has a little ice cream counter as well as many options. Highly recommend for a fun, clean safe and entertaining camping trip!

I would say an average state park with a nice Lake and several points for Marina access. Bonus it has a 9-hole putt-putt golf and a disc golf course. We stayed the second weekend in November so all but one of the shower houses was closed and a lot of the camping area was closed off. Generally I found the campsites to be a little close. There are a couple of sites along the lake with an overlook and several of the others overlook the woods. Convenient to Highland nature preserve.

One of our favorite parks to camp at. Some of the spots have some steep paths to make your way down to the fire pit.

Beautiful trails and waterways. Restrooms are decent. The rock formations are impressive! I will come back! The only thing that marred the experience was out of control dogs constantly barking loudly and owners didn't try to stop it. This was near the Harmony Trail. It is disruptive to other visitors and the wildlife. Keep your dogs at home if you can't control them please!

First time kayaking here. We launched from the boat ramp and went upstream. LOVED THIS PLACE! So beautiful, nice paddling, lots of wildlife and the rock formations are amazing!! I can't wait to come back again!

It's a nice park. There are some spots that are really nice for big families. Then there are some spots that are just straight drops off the RV pad. The sites are clean and the bath houses need some cleaning. But not bad. I would recommend this place. Just needs a little love in some places.

It was a great night to sleep. The other people in the area were respectful and quiet as it got later into the evening. The overall grounds are great for walking around and seeing the layout if the grounds. The store was stocked with basic camping needs and snacks. Good ice cream selection. Try to avoid the locusts season. This is not on the campground. There is nothing they can do, but that time of season is problematic for campers.

While this state park has some unique overlooks and scenery, on a whole it's about average compared to others. There's lots of hiking opportunities, but the trails aren't the best. This state park seems to be more geared for fishing and boating than anything else. Some of the trails were over-grown with vegetation and had scores of spider webs strewn across the path, so they clearly haven't been in much use, which can be a good way to get away from crowds. Well, other than the crowds of spiders on the yellow trail system.
