Went camping here with a big group of friends and had a great time despite heavy rainstorms! There's two sections, one closer to the pavilion and a loop a little ways down. The loop is far enough away from the pavilion that sound didn't carry terribly much. No water available the campsite, but there's a nice little creek running along the front edge and under the driveway bridge. No electricity available at camp sites and only some sites are near parking. The site appears to be well drained, we didn't get flooded by the heavy rains this past weekend. Campfire sites are at each campsite and at the pavilion. Walatowa convenience store/Red Rocks gas station is 20 minutes away.

The Paliza Group Campground was a beautiful place to stay for a long weekend. The facilities are clean, well maintained, and also fairly wheelchair accessible. The pavilion had eight picnic tables that could be rearranged for group activities, as well as a fire pit and grill. It’s an easy distance to the Paliza Goblin Colony Trailhead. A Forest Service employee came by to check on us and resupply the bathrooms which was greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend this campground to large groups. The scenery can’t be beat!

Day1 open- just driving thru - stopped to let our Yorkies out for a couple of minutes- sitting on our tailgate with water and a sandwich & camp host told us to leave “no picnicing” we were NOT picnicing! We were not in at camp site! Or a table. We were the only people in the entire park and he would not even give us 5 minutes- kept repeating “no picnicking” what a rude jerk.

This is a really great group group site. Spacious and clean with a wide variety of sites for tents and campers. Our church rented the campground for a weekend retreat and the large pavilion at the top of the campground was perfect for group activities. The site also has some of the cleanest facilities I can remember at a camp ground!

Only downside was no water. Beautiful area, remote, bit hard to find without GPS, no cell service unless Verizon & that barely. But that's the idea, right? Toilets clean and well stocked, no water or electricity. Great flat areas to camp with parking, pavilion gathering area is large. Each site has its own fire pit & tables. Camp hosts are delightful, helpful, welcoming folks. Good hiking and lots to explore on foot. Yes, wildlife, so keep foodstuffs locked in vehicles at night - NOT YOUR TENT. Star scape is impressive. ~40 min to closest market for ice, etc. I'll go again!

The views are fantastic!! It's a group site that is inexpensive enough to rent for yourself. Multiple gates make it safe. There are 8 vault toilets that are cleaned daily. The big loop has a great pavilion with an outside area to gather large groups. It has a large family grill and an outside counter area for food prep and serving. Bears, deer and elk are common visitors. A cool stream at the entrance offers some relief for sore feet after hiking the sand cliffs and tall Ponderosa pine forest. It's a great place to mingle with the Ancients.

This is a great group campground. Very clean, well taken care of, and super close to Rio Rancho/ABQ area. We stayed at the Owl Loop. We had ~50 people. They have a beautiful pavilion covering some very nice picnic tables. And they have a large outdoor group fire pit. Every site has beautiful picnic tables, a fire pit, and a place to put a tent. The RV spots have 2 picnic tables and also a place to put a tent. The only issue I had was the ground for the tent spots is almost impossible to put a tent stake deeper than about an inch and a half. I had to use a steel nail spike as a pile hole, driven in with a driver hammer. Which I was lucky one if the other group camera had, otherwise I would never had been able to stake in our tent. Beautiful location and site. Stayed June 21-23.

Beautiful, well kept campground among the tall pines. Each site is spacious and has a picnic table, fire ring and grill. Our site was next to a charming brook that we could hear at night. Love the new policy of no generators in certain sites (23-30). For us tent campers, the peace was very welcome. Great Idea! Get here early cause all sites were gone by Friday afternoon and bring your own water. There are three vault toilets spread throughout the campground and each was very clean. Great place for a getaway! Highly recommend.

This Place is amazing and has Accomodations for everyone. This area has nice pull in spots for multiple vehicles, grills, fire pits, a very nice Gazebo and multiple spots for large tents. A Developed Campground also includes an outhouse type Restroom and ramps for individuals in wheelchairs.

Very nice campground. The spots are nicely spaced out for decent privacy. The old shelters are amazing. Almost like a rustic cabin hotel. The bathrooms are immaculately maintained. It's very quiet and peaceful. Camp ground host Steve is well meaning if not a little overbearing.
