Palliser Regional Park

Overview

Palliser Regional Park stands as one of Saskatchewan's most beloved outdoor destinations, nestled along the eastern shores of Lake Diefenbaker. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and expansive recreational opportunities, this park serves as a hub for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure. The park combines well-maintained infrastructure with the raw beauty of the prairies, making it a staple for regional campers and long-distance RVers alike who appreciate a resort-style atmosphere in a natural setting.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just south of the village of Riverhurst, SK, the park is defined by its proximity to the water. The surrounding geography features rolling hills and dramatic coulees that lead down to sandy shorelines. One of the most iconic local features is the Riverhurst Ferry, which connects travelers across the massive reservoir. This location provides a sense of escape from city noise while remaining accessible via well-paved provincial highways, offering a true prairie oasis experience.

Amenities & Park Features

RV travelers will find a range of options, from full-service hookups to electrified sites designed to accommodate modern rigs. The park is equipped with clean shower facilities, laundry services, and a concession area for convenience. Beyond the basics, the facility boasts several key features:

  • A dedicated marina and boat launch for easy water access
  • The Sage View Golf Course, offering a 9-hole challenge
  • Multiple playground areas and a heated swimming pool

These features ensure that visitors can enjoy a comfortable stay with all the necessary modern conveniences nearby.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Water sports are the primary draw here, with visitors spending days fishing for trophy walleye or cooling off at the main beach area. For those who prefer to stay on land, a portion of the Trans-Canada Trail winds through the park, offering scenic hiking and bird-watching opportunities. Nearby, the village of Riverhurst offers a glimpse into local prairie life, while the Gardiner Dam is a short drive away, providing an interesting look at the region's massive irrigation and power projects.

This park is an ideal fit for families and multi-generational groups who enjoy a mix of organized activities and natural exploration. It appeals strongly to boating enthusiasts and anglers who require reliable water access and a safe place to dock. Beautiful beach! Best one we've been so far. Campsites mostly ideal for campers and RVs but tents can be nice too. We'll be back for another picnic for sure.

Nice park with an amazing beach, clean bathrooms with hot water showers that are included in your camping fee. Right next to Sage View Golf Course is a bonus and there is a farmers market on Saturdays. Great spot on Lake Diefenbaker!

Such a beautiful park! The water and views are amazing. We also found people are respectful of the quiet times.

Quiet camping place with beautiful views of the lake. Most of the campsites are occupied by trailers with a few good spots for tent campers. Great place for fishing, golf and trails. Shower facilities are clean.

Ok here is my experience with this provincial park... My husband planned a very nice weekend for our family. First of all, we are OLD FASHIONED CAMPER, which means we camp with TENT and cook our food on a fire pit... This place a noticed there are a lot of trailers, boats, I guess for this Type of campers, this place is a fit. On August 18, 2020 we reserved a spot for us to camp on August 22,2020. So far so good... However, on August 21,2020 they had a FIRE BAN in that area. AND WE WERE NOT NOTIFIED!!! We arrived there all packed up , hungry and excited to start to cook and be by the fire. We were ready for CAMPING!! They said we could not set the fire up for cook or anything...😡 Image this situation... They really DIDNT care about us at all!!! Luckily we found a place there to buy some food. It was an awful experience. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. It should be a pleasure moment for us, but because of the disregard provided by the administration of this park, everything turned upside down. We ended up camping in the other day at PIKE LAKE!
