We had a really great experience at KOA Joshua Tree / Palm Desert KOA Journey. I set up our campsite myself, but everything on their end, maintenance, hookups, and overall setup, was super smooth and easy to use. Everything was clean and well-kept. The office attendant was very informative and helpful, which made check-in and getting settled really easy. My kids had an amazing time, they loved the playground, the jumping pillow (and the attendant there was so friendly), and the mini golf. All of the amenities were really geared toward families and made the whole experience fun for everyone. The best part for us was definitely the pool. It was amazing and honestly made the trip, especially since it was pretty windy during our stay. Having the pool area more enclosed helped a lot and made it really enjoyable. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be back!

We have some good and some bad things about this campground. Pros: The Pool and hot tubs were amazing! We enjoyed hanging out at the pool each day. Even in the morning the pool is warm. They open the pool early at 8:00. It is close to Palm Springs area with lots of shopping and restaurants. Joshua Tree national Park is about 35 minutes away. They have two laundry rooms. The one we used was nice. Cons: The people we camped next to were long term campers. They didn't keep up their site well. After arriving and getting fully set up, we realized that the neighboring campsite had a large amount of clutter piled behind it, and the sewer and water area next to our site appeared unkempt, with tree clippings and debris scattered around. This significantly impacted the overall appearance and enjoyment of our stay. When we checked in, I specifically asked the front desk if the site we chose was a good one, and there was no mention of any concerns or reasons we might want to choose a different site. There were many open sites and she could have moved us over a few spots. We did email them to see about a partial refund. At first I didn't get a phone or a message just a receipt for the refund of the $25 fee we paid to choose our own site. I did get a call later and she left a voicemail. But didn't offer any other compensation. For $69 a night, I would expect a lot more.

The men’s restroom by the pool has 2 showers. The hot water faucet handle is broken on both of them. There is an outdoor shower by the pool so I thought I would use that. The faucet handle came off in my hand. I stuck it back on and managed to turn on the water but it was cold water only. The men’s restroom at the other end of the park has 2 working showers but no toilet paper. The wifi is useless unless you’re in the common area near the pool. On the plus side, the staff is very friendly and the pool and jacuzzi are really nice.

We had a great stay at Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA. The campground was clean, safe, and very comfortable overall. We stayed in site 125, which had a covered picnic table and a gas fire pit, and it was absolutely perfect. The fire pit alone made the stay feel extra special and was such a nice way to relax in the evenings. I usually prefer off-grid camping, but this was an ideal spot to slow down and enjoy some comfort without feeling crowded or chaotic. The showers and restrooms were clean, check-in and check-out were easy, and everything felt well maintained. I would definitely stay here again and would request a similar site. If you’re looking for a comfortable base near Joshua Tree with thoughtful amenities, this KOA is a solid choice.

Just camped here last night, very quickly arranged trip. This KOA offered so much for our 1 night stay in a pop up camper. The staff was very kind, gave us suggestions for where to eat in Desert Hot Springs. Site was spacious and had a sturdy wooden table and bench. We had our 3 dogs and they offered 2 different dog parks, one of which was HUGE with plenty of room for our pups to explore and they LOVED it. Doggie bags located throughout campground. Mineral pool was very relaxing (though a little cooler than I had expected). Three hot tubs, and those WERE nice and toasty. Beautiful views of the mountains. Everything was CLEAN, the restroom was spotless, the campsite had no litter. Surrounding the mineral pool were rooms set for Reading, Card Playing, Exercise, Club House, Billiards. Place felt secure, code needed for bathroom and gate entry. Mini golf which I missed out on, but actually looked nice. Store on premises with pretty much everything you can imagine. Our site was a tent site since we have a canvas pop up, but power and water were still included. I thought the rate was excellent given all the amenities. Also, your fee allows you to stay almost 24 hours. Check in is at 12 pm, check out is at 11 am. Hugely appreciate this long day stay as more hotels and resorts only allow you to check in at 3 pm, then early check out. Only drawback that applies to most of Desert Hot Springs was intense winds during the night. But this is characteristic of the low desert region. Great stay, highly recommend.
