Parc National du Mont-Tremblant/Camping Secteur de l'Assomption

Overview

Parc National du Mont-Tremblant is a legendary destination, but the Secteur de l'Assomption provides a unique, off-the-beaten-path experience. Located on the eastern side of the park, this sector is defined by its intimacy with the wilderness and the winding L'Assomption River. RVers seeking a departure from the more crowded tourist hubs will find a tranquil retreat here, where the sounds of the forest replace the hum of city life. It serves as a peaceful gateway for exploring the vast natural beauty of the Lanaudière region.

Location & Surroundings

Situated near the charming village of Saint-Come, QC, this sector is tucked away in a lush glacial valley. The landscape is dominated by the majestic Laurentian Mountains and thick canopies of sugar maple and yellow birch. The L'Assomption River flows through the heart of the campground, providing a scenic backdrop and a cooling breeze for every campsite. The surrounding terrain offers a dramatic sense of seclusion and isolation, making it a premier choice for those looking to truly escape into the woods.

Amenities & Park Features

While this sector prioritizes a rustic connection to nature, it provides essential comforts for modern RV travelers. You will find semi-serviced sites offering water and electricity hookups, catering to those who want a touch of convenience while camping in the wild. The park features well-maintained washblocks equipped with hot showers and toilets. For self-contained units, a sanitation station is easily accessible. Many sites are thoughtfully arranged to provide privacy, and some are nestled directly along the riverbank for immediate water access.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw in this sector is the water. Visitors can spend hours canoeing or kayaking down the calm, reflective stretches of the river. Hiking is another major highlight, with trails such as L'Envol offering breathtaking panoramic views of the entire valley. Wildlife enthusiasts should keep their eyes peeled for white-tailed deer and various bird species that frequent the area. For a short day trip, the local community of Saint-Come offers a taste of authentic Quebecois culture and hospitality.

Who This Park Is Best For

This sector is best suited for adventure-seeking RVers who prefer a quiet, natural setting over high-density commercial resorts. It is ideal for those with smaller to mid-sized rigs who value privacy and proximity to outdoor recreation. If your idea of a perfect trip involves paddling at dawn or hiking through dense, ancient forests, this park will not disappoint. It is a true sanctuary for travelers who want to disconnect from technology and immerse themselves in the raw beauty of Quebec.

we drove like 1h30 and saw the closure at the entrance, no explanation for a weekend day in October! But already bought tickets online as recommended on their website, no notice during the online purchase either!!

Beautiful, clean, calm site. Highly recommended!! Only thing I would suggest is power outlets on “prêt-à-camper” sites, mine didn’t have one.

Awesome cabin and view but only gets 4 stars cause of the black flies and lack of an ac outlet.
