Parc National du Mont-Tremblant/Camping Secteur de la Diable
Overview
Parc National du Mont-Tremblant is the oldest and largest park in Quebec's network, and the Secteur de la Diable serves as its most accessible and popular gateway. Camping here means immersing yourself in the vast Laurentian wilderness while staying near the park's primary service centers. The atmosphere is distinctly rustic and nature-focused, offering a peaceful retreat where the sounds of the forest and the rustle of leaves replace the hum of the city. It is a place where the landscape and the seasons dictate the pace of your stay.
Location & Surroundings
Located near Lac-Supérieur, QC, this sector is characterized by the winding Rivière du Diable and the expansive Lac Monroe. The park is nestled deep within a mountainous landscape filled with sugar maples and yellow birch trees that create a vibrant canopy. RVers will find themselves surrounded by dense woodlands, providing a high degree of privacy between sites. The proximity to the Mont-Tremblant Resort village offers a unique contrast between secluded nature and upscale amenities just a short drive away.
Amenities & Park Features
The Secteur de la Diable offers several campgrounds, including Lac Chat and Lac Monroe, which cater to different RV needs. While many sites are unserviced for a true back-to-nature experience, there are numerous spots offering water and electrical hookups suitable for various rig sizes. Essential facilities are well-maintained and include:
- Clean washroom blocks and hot showers
- Convenient dump stations for RV maintenance
- Discovery Center with equipment rentals
- Supervised beach areas and picnic spots
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Adventure is steps away from your campsite. You can hike the iconic La Roche trail for breathtaking views of the glacial valley or explore the park via the extensive multi-use cycling paths. Water enthusiasts can enjoy canoe and kayak rentals on Lac Monroe or spend a quiet afternoon fishing. For those seeking a thrill, the Via Ferrata du Diable offers a unique way to scale the rock faces of the Vache Noire mountain under professional supervision, providing a perspective of the park few others see.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who prefer a natural, state-park setting over a commercial resort experience. It is a fantastic choice for families looking to introduce their children to the Great Outdoors through educational park programs. Because some access roads and sites can be narrow, it is particularly well-suited for mid-sized RVs and campervans driven by travelers who value direct trail access and scenic landscapes above full hookups or resort-style luxuries.

Sepaq’s mont tremblant is a piece of paradise and it is definitely a place to see. The road is paved all the way until the La Diable waterfall. If you have a small car, you might not like the dirt road after that. There are lots of big rocks and every few turns you will meet a car or a deer. Don’t go too fast. If you are looking for a real restroom, lake monroe has one, and there are a few at the campsites but other than that is mostly dry toilets that you will encounter

I have been going there since i was a child. Best wilderness in the world in my opinion. Star gazing, fresh air packed with oxygen, soft boreal forest ground. Black/red water and rocks. Water falls, lakes.

Went here with friends for both our birthdays. Did the toughest via ferrata route. Our guide Damien was great. Veet friendly with a great sense of humor. The whole experience was great and well worth the visit. Highly recommend it.

Nice quiet night camping De La Sablonnièrel, just remember to bring your own drinking water. Great time on via ferreta Grande Virée, which was scarier than Parc National du-Fjord-du-Saguenay's hardest course. Local guide Patrick lead us well, told tales of the area, and monitored the group's confidence and safety. We'll be back for canoeing and hiking.

We did the Via Ferata. What an amazing experience! And the view is breathtaking! If you are in good shape physically and ok with heights I strongly recommend it. Well organized! Our thanks to the guide for making it a safe and special experience!
