Parc National du Mont-Tremblant/Camping Secteur de Lac Cache

Overview

Located within the historic boundaries of Quebec’s oldest national park, the Lac-Caché sector offers a serene retreat for travelers seeking a deep connection with nature. Managed by SEPAQ, this campground provides a structured yet rustic experience for those exploring the province. It serves as a primary gateway to the vast Laurentian wilderness, where the peaceful melody of the forest replaces the noise of the city. It is a true sanctuary for those looking to unplug while staying in a well-regulated environment.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the Secteur de la Diable near Lac-Supérieur, the park is characterized by its rolling hills and deep glacial valleys. The campground is tucked away in a lush, forested environment that provides ample shade and natural privacy. Being part of the iconic Mont-Tremblant National Park system, the area is surrounded by crystal-clear lakes and diverse wildlife, making it a premier destination for travelers who appreciate mountainous scenery and fresh alpine air.

Amenities & Park Features

The Lac-Caché sector caters well to RVers with partially serviced sites offering water and electricity. Facilities include modern, well-maintained sanitary blocks with showers and toilets, ensuring comfort throughout your stay. A convenient RV dump station is located within the park for guests to use. Unlike high-density commercial resorts, the focus here is on the natural landscape, with spacious, wooded sites that accommodate various rig sizes while maintaining a quiet, respectful atmosphere.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts can explore miles of hiking paths, including the iconic La Roche and La Corniche trails, which offer breathtaking views of the Monroe Valley. Water activities are a major draw, with opportunities for canoeing and kayaking on the nearby Diable River or the various lakes within the sector. For a change of pace, the vibrant Mont-Tremblant Pedestrian Village is just a short drive away, offering fine dining, boutique shopping, and seasonal events.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for nature-focused RVers who prioritize scenery and outdoor recreation over luxury resort amenities. It is perfect for active families and couples looking to spend their days hiking or paddling through pristine environments. First time camping here and impressed. Friendly, helpful staff at the front. Well managed campgrounds with sufficient toilets. Gorgeous lake, fire pits and picnic tables available. A nice little trail run at the back. Great for couples and families but unfortunately no dogs. Highly recommend and would definitely come back next summer.

The trail was acceptable. It started with a straight path for one kilometer then it became more steep. The trail is mostly covered with rocks, lot of mud. Wearing hiking shoes is essential! The view on the top was not bad, but most of the belvederes had trees blocking the view.

Amazing place to get in contact with nature. I could hear the owls at night and was fortunate enough to hear some wolf conversation far away. Please be sensible and try not to leave any garbage.

I loved staying at the park over the long weekend but the camping site I stayed at did not have running water. I am not sure whether another site would have been more suited for me, there were a lot of camping sites to choose from a little aid from the website that helped in that regard. I previously camped twice and both places had running water so I assumed that this place would have running water too. The hiking trail are long but worth it.
