Paris Mountain State Park Campground

Overview

Paris Mountain State Park offers a serene escape for RV travelers looking to experience the lush landscapes of the South Carolina Upstate. Located just a short drive from the bustling city of Greenville, this park provides a peaceful, rustic environment that feels far removed from urban noise. It is a perfect destination for those who prioritize nature and outdoor recreation over the bells and whistles of a full-service commercial resort.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the heart of Greenville County, the park sits atop a remnant of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This elevated geographic position ensures cooler temperatures and spectacular forested views during the warmer months. While the surrounding area is rapidly growing, the park remains a sanctuary of dense hardwood forests and quiet mountain air, providing an ideal base camp for exploring both the wild trails of the mountain and the urban charm of Greenville.

Amenities & Park Features

The campground at Paris Mountain is designed for a more traditional camping experience. While it does not offer full hookup sites, it provides water and electrical connections at each RV site, catering well to those who enjoy a classic state park atmosphere. Guests can take advantage of the bathhouse facilities and a convenient dump station. The park is characterized by its secluded, shaded sites, which offer a natural barrier between neighbors, enhancing the overall sense of privacy.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Visitors will find plenty to do without venturing far from their campsite. The park is home to several scenic mountain lakes, perfect for fishing, canoeing, or kayaking. Hikers can explore miles of well-maintained trails that wind through the park’s diverse terrain. For those craving city amenities, downtown Greenville is only a few miles away, featuring a renowned culinary scene, the iconic Liberty Bridge, and the sprawling Falls Park on the Reedy River.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for travelers who value natural beauty and tranquility over resort-style amenities like swimming pools or high-speed Wi-Fi. It is perfectly suited for retirees, weekend warriors, and small families who enjoy hiking, cycling, and wildlife viewing. If you are looking for an affordable, scenic location to unplug and reconnect with nature while staying near a vibrant city center, Paris Mountain is an excellent choice for your next RV trip.

We really enjoy camping at Paris Mountain State Park - the scenery is beautiful & we return every year. However every time we camp here we have problems with other dogs running loose. Our dog doesn't react well when unknown dogs run up to her barking. We just returned from a short walk & two different dogs ran at her - it just causes extra stress not knowing if there will be a dog fight while our dog is on a leash.

What a beautiful campground! I love the small Lake/water area. Bathrooms are super clean though patio too cold. The campsites are very tight together. And it might just be in the area that I was at. I will definitely come back. It was a beautiful place

Great park near Greenville, SC. Nice trails and campground makes for a cool, cheap place to stay when visiting Greenville.

Bring extra chicks for most campsites. As others reviewed, long class As or even more than thirty foot trailer may have difficulty with roads and sites; noticed suspension drag marks on blacktop on several locations on road to the amp grounds. My rig is pictured on site35. Notice cobbled up step for my short wife to get into Minnie. Generally the forested park is very attractive, in a good rustic way. Encountered electrical issue with 30A reversed polarity outlet. Ranger was alerted and got repaired next day. We were able to reach nearby site with ext cord. For hiking, remember, it’s a mountain park.

Great place to hike, though it gets full easily. Not much parking. Trails are well kept, but some have challenging spots. Nice roads, very Shady. We've hiked there 5 times now.
