Partridge Hollow Camping Area

Overview

Partridge Hollow Camping Area offers a tranquil escape within the lush, rolling landscapes of south-central Massachusetts. This family-owned and operated campground emphasizes a traditional camping experience while providing the modern conveniences necessary for today’s RVers. Situated on several acres of mature hardwood forest, the park creates a genuine sense of seclusion and immersion in nature that allows travelers to disconnect from the frantic pace of everyday life. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a staple for those exploring the New England region.

Location & Surroundings

Tucked away in the quiet town of Monson, the park is perfectly positioned within the scenic Quaboag Valley region. The surrounding geography is defined by its rural charm, featuring winding brooks, granite outcroppings, and dense woodlands. Because the park is removed from the immediate bustle of the city, it offers a peaceful nighttime atmosphere where the sounds of the forest take center stage. It serves as a strategic jumping-off point for exploring the broader Pioneer Valley while maintaining a private, backcountry feel.

Amenities & Park Features

The park features a robust selection of facilities designed to keep guests of all ages comfortable and entertained during their stay. Practical needs are met with a well-stocked camp store, clean restroom facilities, and on-site laundry. Some of the most popular park features include:

  • A refreshing heated swimming pool perfect for summer afternoons.
  • Spacious, shaded sites that accommodate various RV sizes.
  • A large playground and a dedicated community game room.

A standout feature of this park is the schedule of organized activities. Visitors often participate in themed weekends, which include tractor-pulled hayrides, crafts, and communal campfires that foster a strong sense of community among seasonal and transient guests alike.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Nature lovers and history enthusiasts will find plenty to explore within a short drive of the campground. The nearby Norcross Wildlife Sanctuary offers thousands of acres of protected land with pristine walking trails and exceptional birdwatching opportunities. For a cultural excursion, Old Sturbridge Village is a short trip away, providing a fascinating look into 19th-century New England life. Additionally, the park is a favored lodging choice for those attending the world-renowned Brimfield Antique Flea Market, offering a quiet retreat after a long day of browsing treasures.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideally suited for families seeking a social environment where children can play safely and participate in structured activities. It is also a prime choice for RVers who prefer a rustic, wooded aesthetic over a paved, parking-lot style resort. Camped here a few times. It's a nice campground in a nice area. Prices were good and the place overall is nice and wooded. We got an escort to our site which was nice as not all are clearly marked. They cut their own campfire wood too which I like better than the packaged stuff most places offer now.

Stayed here this weekend after my dad booked the cove sight for all of his kids and their families… (5 separate families paying) and we ended up having to leave earlier because the sewer smell in the cove was horrible, the bathrooms were disgusting, the owner was extremely rude and when my family member was talking to the group of kids we all had he assumed he was talking to him and became super argumentative and ready to start a argument. After kindly explaining to him that we were talking to all the kids he didn’t even have the decency to apologize for snapping… my dog is super well behaved and we brought her with us for the weekend and as soon as we reached the pool area someone called and complained and said that she was “ barking “ . There is just way more friendlier campgrounds around that actually have nice people and clean spaces!! Save your money, save your time, and certainly save yourself some friendlier experiences.

Nice campground with kids activities over the weekend but “not” during the week. If you expect plenty of young campers during the week - this place is dead. Maybe we were just unlucky. Pool is clean. Playground is nice. Bathrooms are okay for a campground. Lesson learned for me: Ask more questions before booking.

Nice family oriented campground. Pool is awesome, kids love the game room and some games are free. Lots of activities on the weekend. Owners and staff are very friendly. Campground is clean. Restrooms although clean could use some attention like paint and get rid of mold. Only real complaint is the ticks, constantly finding them on tent, chairs and ourselves. Bring lots of bug spray!

A family campground that makes you feel like family! We enjoyed a roomy private site with water and 50amp hookups. There is a gray water dump at the sites and there is a dump station at the campground. They have a lovely pool open in Sumner. There is a hiking trail nearby. We loved the quiet family friendly atmosphere at Partridge Hollow.
