Love camping here!!! Normally we camp off season so we usually have only a few neighbors around. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Wonderful campground with all necessities available. The bathrooms are outdated and offer the bare minimum, but it works. Booking, check-in and check-out was all easy. I recommend going during the week, if you prefer less commotion.

We absolutely love this campground! Just spent 3 nights with 13 friends and had the best time! It is a beautiful place to camp.

This is a nice camp ground,nice restrooms nice private showers. The campground is quiet,all you hear is kids playing but besides that its quiet. I have site 05 and it has nice parking,electricity and a firepit. The camp store has just about everything and the prices are fair. Definitely recommend staying here.

Went camping at the Paynetown Campgrounds and our time there was fantastic! The grounds are extremely clean and amenities include electrical hookups at each campsite and a nice shower and bathroom building with hot water. Lake Monroe is stunningly beautiful and clean. The DNR Staff and fellow campers were all very nice and courteous too. It was an amazing experience and we'll be back soon!

We were here for 5 weekdays a bit off season with a gorgeous view of the lake. It was peaceful watching the kayaks and sail boats. The campground was well kept but we seemed to trip the power circuit a few times. That is a first for the places we've been with the trailer.

Just stayed there for the first time ever. Good camping and they have so great spots that have what looked to be private beaches. Maybe not private but they might as well be. The shower houses were clean with decent hot water. Ill go there again for sure but ill have lakefront property then. Lol

Had a great experience here for my friend's birthday! Super close to Lake Monroe where my mother in law docks her boat so it was really convenient! Also close to a the Fishin Shedd which also sells alcohol and that was important for a camping weekend! Was excited to have electricity as well and everyone seemed to have dogs like we did. Bathrooms actually have plumbing and were cleaned really well every day. Will definitely be back with more friends next year!

I love how everyone just gets it. You can be loud, have fun with family and friends, do normal things a family will do when camping, but at a certain time, everyone knows it's time to be quiet. I highly recommend this place. It's family oriented, but it's also perfect for couples or people who just want some peace and quiet by themselves.
