First I've got to say the people that run the RV park are so friendly. I've never been to a nicer run resort. The bad news is from the minute we got there to the day we left, we stayed about a week, I was picking up whom ever stayed there before us, cigarette butts ( at least 100 of them), marijuana joints, and dog poop. My kids stepped in is, my little girl was picking up half smoked joints, the smell of cigarettes was beyond me. Honestly I felt that I had really over paid for such a site. I'm not sure who or what kind of person could leave it that way but, wow. Not to include the bottle lids, straws, and other trash I had to pick up. Very disappointed and really would have preferred a refund for having to work the entire time staying there cleaning up the mess. I did contact the front office and the lady apologized, but that was about it. Disappointed. Update: the cigarette butts in the fire pit are the ones I picked up and put in there. All the marijuana was scattered throughout the RV site ground floor, so please do not try and pirate my review. As stated to your front desk, my stay there was come and go as I was in and out of the hospital. Take responsibility for the site instead of trying to cover it up. Thanks.

Great choice for our stop on the way to Arkansas! The staff was well organized and friendly, and lead us to our spot by golf cart. The pull through site in the middle of park was super easy to get into. The park is well maintained and has beautiful willow trees, and gorgeous landscape in the front. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended. Five stars!⭐️

Traveling during Labor Day weekend and found this gem. Arrived at closing time, and was greeted with warm and friendly staff. They made sure I had everything I needed before closing. Great place! Highly recommend.

Great place, quiet, friendly staff. We stayed a month and it was an awesome experience, except the wifi but we got our own. Within 15 minutes of anything you need also. If we're ever in the area we works definitely stay again.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, they guided us to our site and helped us get parked. The park is very clean and well maintained. Our pull through site was very easily accessed. Connections were easy to access, the park is quiet and Believe it or not....Uber eats delivered us a tasty dinner. We'll definitely stay again if we're in the area.

Very nice campground. Only stayed one night. Our site was very quaint and shaded and the staff were above and beyond.

WOW WOW WOW!!!! I am extremely happy here. My wife and I stayed here throughout the winter. We parked our TT December 1st 2024 and still here at the time of this review. From December till now we have had a bunch of, snow and the up-keep of the roads by the staff was utterly! 👏 The biggest perk for me was basically on-demand propane. Put the empty tank by the curb and in a short time it was back at my rv filled. We are both night shift works and was able to sleep during the day. Very peaceful and quiet. Nice walking trails to walk with the dogs. My opinion overall is that they went above and beyond. I will stay here again throughout 2025 winter and if needed, during the summer months as well.

We stayed here 4 months, through the winter. Our stay was wonderful, the staff is friendly and helpful. We loved the convenience of propane delivery and 24 hour laundry. We will definitely stay again.

Peculiar Park was the perfect location for us to call “home”! We were in the area for 3 weeks during medical treatments at KU Med; the owners and staff couldn’t have been more accommodating to us! The RV park is beautiful and well kept. The clean laundry room was appreciated! Even though the highway is close by, the location is still quiet. Felt very safe. Great place to walk! The best part for us…close enough to the city we needed to travel to daily, but well away from the big city! If you’re headed to Kansas City, but looking for small-town friendliness…this is your place to be! A special thank you to Chris, Wendy & Christie…your kindness will be remembered.

After having a cash offer on my house I had to move immediately and didn't have time to find a place. With rent prices skyrocketing I decided to try the RV life for awhile. I'm a business owner and have kids so I needed to stay close to the KC Metro area. After researching and visiting all the local campground options, it was very clear that Peculiar Park Place was the ONLY campground I could find that looked safe and felt family friendly. Being a former police officer, I wanted something safe and in a low crime area. The camps private location and security cameras offered just that. I could literally leave my vehicle and camper unlocked with no worries. The "one way in, one way out" newly paved road deterred potential criminals from "casing" an area to steal without standing out like a sore thumb. The staff was amazing. They did everything they could to accommodate me, and allowed me to move to a new camp spot each time a better spot came available. They have bathrooms, showers, and a laundry room that were ALWAYS clean. The landscaping is amazing, and there's a hiking trail that goes out into the woods and opens up to a large field where you can exercise, walk your dog, or "get away" and watch some wildlife. There are future plans to build a dog park. The land layout is not flat but has a lot of hills and character so it almost has the feel of being in a mountain-like area for lack of better words. The staff works long hours, constantly working to make the camp better, and adding new lots. I read some of the former negative Google reviews which are ridiculous. There are rules in place to keep it nice and keep the trash out. Some people just don't like rules and want to be able to do what they want. There is a really nice pavilion/common area that is always open for use. There is a big screen TV, games, books, refrigerator, exercise equipment, cooking area/grill, etc.. The camp offers year round camping which is hard to find. There is also a storm shelter. Another perk is that utilities/electric are included and not metered. To many perks/amenities to mention. Veteran/police officer friendly. I would highly recommend anyone passing through looking for a short or long term stay, to save yourself some time looking at the other camps in the area, as this one far surpasses them all!

Beautiful facility, well off the highway. The owners were super friendly. We were only there for one night, so didn't use any of the amenities. They had a nice pull through site for us. I couldn't ask for anything more

Welcoming, clean RV park with friendly staff. When we checked in it was late in the day & very dark outside, Wendy was kind and showed us to our site. The next morning we were able to get our propane refilled with ease, they come to the site to pick up your tanks and refill them, now that’s service! We would definitely definitely stay at this RV park again.

We camped here for the first time this weekend. At first we were very impressed as the grounds are well kept and the site we had was gravel/fairly level with full hookup - we also were shown to our site, etc. It came with a concrete pad, fire pit and nice picnic table. Our neighbors were very personable (full time residents it appeared) and the light globes at each site were a nice touch. It is cash/check only which is outdated, but not a big deal. On our first morning, I had left for a few hours but my wife was still at the site with our dog and two boys (one age 4 and one 14 months). There is a policy to have pets on leash at all times and not to be left unattended as is the norm at many campgrounds. The weather was nice so my wife wanted to be outside with the boys and had taken the dog out first; a smaller dog (40 pounds) and was fully secured to the leash. She went back inside to get the boys and was met by one of the owners as she stepped back outside with a scolding for leaving the dog unattended. My wife explained that she had just stepped back inside to get the boys and come right back out, but the response from the owner was firm and not exactly forgiving. I suppose next time she should leave the 14 month old outside first unattended and then go get the dog? Bear in mind that my wife’s grandparents managed an RV park here locally in a KC suburb for over 30 years - we always follow rules and are respectful to all, but this experience left a very sour taste in our mouth. For $50, at an “executive site” that required extensions to reach the pedestal for both sewer and electric (sewer ran uphill no less), paired with a bad experience with management…we will think hard before returning.
