Peaceful, beautiful, not hectic like other local state parks. Great fishing, birding, camping, nice bbq areas, great walking paths, bathroom&showers are well kept. Staff,Hosts&Park Rangers are freindly&professional. By 9 pm it mellows to a stillness&you can listen to the water flow over the historic dam.

This place isn’t it. The only good thing is the price for electric and water sites, and they had availability. while I followed google to get here there was still an opportunity for a wrong turn and confusion. The trail in is a bit rough and you cross a sketchy one lane bridge. It doesn’t seem like a state park at all. I also dislike that all the sites are pull through. It’s extremely weird of a set up, a lot with pull through but you have to navigate around the plug in, without extra space. It’s all dirt. Fairly well levelled considering. No privacy from others, you’re all lined up. There is some shade. Nice picnic table areas. The check in visitors centre seems like a storage container or temporary set up. The signage was a bit hard to follow as well. Not any nice scenery. I didn’t even bother checking the Dam. No hiking trails outside a trail to go fishing. It did the trick for the night that I needed it too. And ouff- no dump station. Yikes.

Shade on a hot day. Bring your own goodies and drinks. Some fishing and some swimming. Bring a rope and a floaty. Life jacket and a fishing pole. Oh yeah! A chair and tarp for shade or shelter from rain and wind.

Great campground for RV or tent camping. I went here in October with my family for a weekend camping trip. Online we were only able to reserve a developed spot with electricity and water hookups for an RV for $14 per night, but on-site you can get a tent site for less. The temperature was great, there was free firewood and fire pits, and the bathrooms were positively luxurious (heated, flush toilets, and showers). We went on a short walk with the kids and found a playground with lots of goat heads and other thistles and briars that they named pokey-park. The river was fun to walk around, play in the mud, and dig for freshwater clams. There was some sort of crane migration going on so hundreds of large cranes were constantly flying overhead in huge V-formations. I will definitely be coming back next year.

Quiet, clean park near the bosque and agricultural fields. Well maintained restrooms, small playground for the kiddos, and plenty of birds. We visited in March before irrigation season, not the most colorful but still enjoyable. Will be returning when the river is flowing
