What a Beautiful place! Campsites are well taken care of. Unfortunately the weather was not great when we visited with great winds coming off of Lake Superior. If wind or rain is in the forecast I would advise it is not worth it to come out, they close the beaches for dangerous water conditions. We weren’t able to kayak either. We didn’t have any issues with this but one thing to note is no bear boxes, they recommend keeping food in car.

The far western edge of twelvemile Beach is where the trail to the Au Sable light station begins. Such a pretty beach and apparently there's twelve miles of it to explore so enjoy.

Beautiful lakeside camping. (Site 34 woods side of the loop.) Two minute walk to beach. Nice quite sites with lots of space. Beach is amazing for long walks and sunsets. The one negative were the mosquitoes!!!! The beach was fine but in the woods at my site they were heavy. That said what would you expect for first week in June. Just bring good bug protection and you’ll be fine.

Twelve mile beach campground was serenity, blissful just heavenly! So peaceful and quiet. The camp host was incredible and so friendly. The campsite itself was very clean with ample space. The bathrooms were amazingly clean, but at night make sure you take a flash light. Staff clean the bathrooms regularly. We stayed at campsite 2 which was conveniently located right next to the bathroom with a boardwalk leading to it, but still had plenty of privacy. The steps to the beach were just across the street but still had privacy. During the day we went hiking to Ausable light house which was a super nice easy walk. This whole place was incredible.

Stayed in site 22. Nice access to lake. Have Verizon and had no cell service at all. Would definitely stay here again.
