So sad absolutely horrendous camp HOSTS. Should be ashamed of themselves. And should be relieved of their duties. Shame on you camp hosts. Lovely area ruined by terrible people.

Beautiful campground and surroundings but the campground hosts had to flex and turned a couple of situations into a much bigger deal than they needed to be. First incident was after we set up camp, one of the hosts came by and chewed us out for being on the wrong site. We misunderstood and were on site 3 instead of 13. She just wouldn’t let up even though we apologized and said we would move. The funny thing about it is that there was no reservation on that site until after we checked out but hey, we were in the wrong so she made sure we knew it and made us move. The next incident another host came by and chewed us out for having too much wood in our fire pit saying we weren’t supposed to have pieces that big in there. The funny part was that we were told by another host to just go get dead wood from in the forest because they were out of the wood to sell. The host went on and on about how they have to clean out big logs after guests leave which is a part of their job but somehow we’re the bad guys lol The picture I attached is of the fire pit when we left. Fire extinguished and nothing outside of the pit. Like I said, beautiful campground but in my 40+ years if camping all over the US I’ve never had hosts be so militant and helļ bent on just being rude.

Very nice for camping in tents or in powerless or silent generator RVs. There’s quiet time at 10pm, so no generator noise either. $28 to camp while we were there, it costs more if you have more than one vehicle. It was secluded, and well kept and felt very safe. We stayed here for a night and I’m glad that we did. There’s *No Hookups* for RVs. Water is attainable but not as hookups, the person who was watching the grounds at night was kind and attentive and even though we got there very late, 11:30pm, he was accommodating, friendly and kind and offered me buckets of water. I’m glad that we had the experience. There are clean toilet rooms; no sinks. I wish we had done more exploring to see what more it had to offer but it was cold and we were ill prepared, we’ll be back ❤️ FYI* No phone signal for T-Mobile other than satellite, but isn’t that what camping is about? Bring people who have trouble ‘disconnecting’ if you know what I mean 🤭 P.S. the road getting there is ugly, but it’s worth it, take your time and you’ll be fine.

Nice CG above Rampart Reservoir. Great hiking and kayaking with fairly convenient access to Pike's Peak and Garden of the Gods and things to do in Woodland Park and Colorado Springs. Clean toilets and available water. Seems to have a resident Doe in the CG.

Beautiful views and clean campsites. It's about 30 minutes from the main road, but it's worth it! Great views of Pikes Peak from our campsite too! Great host family too!!

Nice campground. Make sure you have good shocks on your car cause the road is a bit jarring getting up their. Like the camp area and good places for water. No services for electricity and it is an outhouse. It is CAMPING!

Rampart is an amazing lake to camp at. This campground was well maintaned and easy to access lake from trail at camp. Camp host this time around was a bit if a stick in the mud and had generator running all day right up to 10pm quiet hours.

Great scenery, Campground has spacious, level camp sites which are close to Rampart Reservoir.

Amazing view and great lake. No swimming in the lake though, kinda a bummer. But very relaxing.

This campground is being privately managed and the individuals at the gate were extremely rude to my wife and I over a misunderstanding about a sign that was posted in the campground that we did not see. The host was very understanding and helped us out but I would not return. There are many free sites to camp in the national forest. Choose those because other than the clean vault toilets, there's no real benefit for staying there.

Loved it. The camp sites were clean, the bathrooms were well stocked and the lake was very close. Tip: if you are not a fan of the steep main trail to the lake, it does branch off to the right. Look for a trail just before the main trail begins the steep descent. Will go back!
