Pine Creek Lake - COE/Lost Rapids

Overview

Pine Creek Lake - COE, specifically the Lost Rapids area, offers a tranquil retreat within the rolling hills of southeastern Oklahoma. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this destination is defined by its serene waterfront views and rugged natural beauty. Visitors often come here to escape the hustle of city life, finding a peaceful environment where the rhythmic sounds of the Little River and the surrounding forest take center stage. It serves as a scenic gateway to the wilderness of the Kiamichi Mountains region.

Location & Surroundings

Nestled in Ringold, Oklahoma, the park is situated on the shores of the 3,750-acre Pine Creek Lake. The landscape is a lush mix of hardwood and pine forests, providing ample shade and a sense of seclusion for campers. Boating and kayaking are popular ways to explore the irregular shoreline and hidden coves of the lake. For those willing to drive a short distance, the Little River National Wildlife Refuge offers hiking and birdwatching, while the nearby Mountain Fork River provides additional fishing spots. The surrounding timberlands are also well-regarded for seasonal hunting and nature photography.

The person who lives in the camper behind the camp signs dog barked for over an hour up til 11:30 at night while trying to sleep. Called the sheriff department and they said they don't know where that campground is. Ridiculous

Anyone that is near site 11 near the bathroom there was a friendly stray grey male kitten there. PLEASE GO RESCUE HIM AND GIVE HIM A GOOD HOME. We would've taken him but due to our living situation we're unable to take care of him. This is an EMERGENCY SITUATION cause he is very young so PLEASE SOMEONE GO FIND HIM. He won't survive in this heat. I AM BEGGING ANYONE WHO GOES TO LOST RAPIDS TO BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THIS KITTEN.
