Beautiful area about 30 minutes north of Gettysburg. Peaceful even with 90 % occupied. RV Sites are electric only, tent sites have no electric. Sites are mostly level, and if not, easy to level most rigs. Adequate dump station. Bathrooms are clean, and modern. No WiFi or Cell service from any provider. Starlink saves the day. Definitely on the list to revisit.

I have more pictures but they're on my computer currently The view is breathtaking the hike wasn't horrible I wasn't knowledgeable of the path however little math they give you at the tiny billboard where I parked informed you and what area was what and trails. Trails are marked, cross paths have wooden signs saying what goes where. Overall a pretty good light hike the blue one 3/4 of a mile rough terrain but still pretty decent.

🌲🌊 FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Pine Grove Furnace State Park totally stole my heart! 😍 My son and I spent an entire day soaking in the sunshine, exploring trails, and playing by the lake—and it was perfect. The weather was gorgeous, the views were stunning, and the peaceful vibes were everything we needed. We made memories, had laughs, and just fully unplugged from the world for a bit. 🥰💚 This park is an absolute gem, and we can’t wait to go back again. Whether you’re hiking, picnicking, or splashing around the lake—this place is pure magic. Went there to see the furnaces and ended up enjoying so much more. From all of the buildings, stable, Ironmasters Mansion, General store, rental cabin and museum, we loved how well they were preserved. The park upkeep was very good. Roads were smooth, bathrooms clean.

Nice park. 1/2 Way point of the Appalachian Trail. Lots of hiking trails. The AT Museum has lots of history about the AT & a nice little gift shop. There is a general store with hiker provisions & other camp store type things. They serve burgers, fries & ice cream & an assortment of other things including breakfast. Then the history of the park's past as an iron smelting industry is also captivating. The ore pits are now beautiful lakes with swimming areas & boat rentals.

Although they only have electric. The sites are pretty sizable. There is only bathrooms at the upper end, but there is another rest restroom in the lower numbered spaces that everyone can use wth showers. It's not a big campground, so its walkable to the showers from pretty much anywhere in the park. The last time we were there we stayed in Site 69 and I walked to the shower house in the mornings. The camp host was very nice both times we've been there. There are pet friendly sites, but your pet has to stay in the pet friendly area, even when walking them. Most of the sites are back-ins. We've never had any problem getting into our site and they been mostly level to level. They do fill up pretty quickly. You should make reservations. When you arrive at the campground, you go directly to your site, no check-in.
