Pine Point Resort

Overview

Pine Point Resort serves as a premier destination for those seeking the rugged beauty of Northern Ontario. Located on the shores of the legendary Lac des Mille Lacs, this resort offers a traditional wilderness experience without sacrificing essential comforts. It is primarily known for its world-class fishing and a relaxed, community-oriented atmosphere that brings guests back year after year for the peaceful, natural surroundings.

Location & Surroundings

Nestled just off the Trans-Canada Highway near the township of Upsala, ON, the resort is surrounded by dense boreal forests and pristine water. The landscape is defined by rocky shorelines and towering pines, providing a true sense of escape from the bustle of urban life. Because it sits on a massive lake system, the park offers direct access to diverse aquatic habitats, making it a central hub for Northwestern Ontario exploration and discovery.

Amenities & Park Features

The resort provides several RV sites with hookups designed to accommodate travelers exploring the region. On-site facilities are geared toward the outdoor lifestyle, prioritizing utility and convenience for the modern angler and nature lover. Featured amenities include:

  • A well-equipped fish cleaning station for processing your daily catch.
  • A private boat launch and dockage for easy access to the lake.
  • On-site boat and motor rentals for those traveling without their own vessel.

The focus here is on functionality and supporting a successful day on the water while maintaining a clean and organized environment for all guests.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While fishing for walleye and northern pike is the primary draw, the area offers plenty for nature enthusiasts. Guests can spend hours wildlife spotting for moose and bald eagles or exploring the vast network of forest trails nearby. The proximity to Upsala allows for quick supply runs, while the lake itself offers endless opportunities for sunset photography and peaceful canoeing in sheltered, quiet coves away from the wind.

Who This Park Is Best For

This resort is ideal for avid anglers and families who prioritize outdoor activities over high-end luxury resort amenities. If was a little costly, but otherwise its a good spot for camping and fishing. The camp sites are all set up with water and hydro. So that's a bonus. They do boat rentals if need be as well. They have indoor washrooms and showers.

Home for 2 days and already looking forward to next year. Good fishing, good friends and family and the best Fishing resort that I have ever visited.

Many cabins are old and not very inviting. They are clean when you check in, which is a positive. The furnishings are not comfortable and are old. I realize that the patrons can be hard on the amenities but most would apprpriately respect them if they were updated. The bedding was clean and crisp, better than many hotels I have stayed in, and the mattress was not bad. No accommodation for elderly or handicapped guests such as grab bars in the washroom or ramping to access the cabins. The public washroom, used for overflow was in grim shape. Was not comfortable touching anything in there and again, no grab bars for elderly or handicapped patrons. Overall, not the best, but will do.

Gravel road was in great shape. Pine point puts you within minutes of excellent fishing in all directions. Only complaint was the aluminum dock was 4ft above lake level so it made getting in and out of the boat harder for the older folks.
