Very confusing info on the website—states season closes 1 Oct on one part, then 31 Oct on another part. Tried to contact camp host via e-mail & phone, as well as billeting office to confirm if park was open. Could not contact anyone at this facility. Had to continue driving through the area making for a very long driving day.

Pine View Campground is for Military and Retired Military only and is one of those campgrounds that most folks may be inclined to underrate only because the site spaces are limited to fourteen spaces and three tent sites. George and Vicki are exceptional host who keeps the bathrooms and laundry room in excellent condition. This is the only campground I have ever been to (we have been full time for two years) that provides an RV cleaning station for FREE! 😃😃😃 There is a Pilot convenience store with gas & diesel just outside the gate and across the highway. This is our second visit, and we decided to stay a week this time. Although there is no sewer at each RV site, there is a dump just up on the hill less than a quarter of a mile away. The sites are gravel along with the road, but the sites are relatively level. The water and electricity hookups are in great shape and easy to attach to. DRAWBACKS: The drawbacks are the insects and the fact that there is no lake or river within sight, although the high desert landscape and wildlife are spectacular. Elk, coyotes and high desert birds abound. 📸📹 Occasionally a bear may wander through the area as well. There is an overflow about five miles away, and a combination is required to access the rang area, and there is nothing out there but a lot of open country. RECOMMENDATIONS: Build more sites! The Camp Navajo National Guard has more than ample acreage to accommodate. Paving and sewer would be wonderful, albeit expensive. However, I believe the investment would be returned many folds given time. I hope that there is always a spot and availability to all, myself included. We will return.
