As a few others have mentioned, the rangers constant harassing about parking permits, numbers of vehicles on sites, etc. really detracts from the great location of this park. Bathrooms were swept, but not really cleaned well and paper products not stocked was also a disappointment. Quiet hours are not enforced at all, like nothing. If you have a camper and can isolate from the noise it is one thing, but if you are in a tent, it is miserable. I don't go camping to be on my phone, but having no cell service can be annoying, and the wifi get's overused most of the day, the only time I could do anything on it was early morning hours. The location is great, and I think with some changes to personnel and how they operate the park, this place could be a hit. We have stayed at the state parks which are close by and I would recommend them over this park.

We've stayed here two times now and have had positive experiences. We like the access to the beach, as well as bike trails in the woods. If you have mountain bikes, be sure to explore the wooded area to the northside of the park. There is every a fence trail that will lead all the way back to the park entrance that is flat and easy to navigate. The bath houses were dirty and dated, and could use some more routine cleaning and maintenance. We didn't have any trouble from the ranger, we only really saw the staff doing vehicle parking pass checks around 10pm at night. We liked that some of the sites had large mature trees that provided shade and a place to hang a hammock if you wanted. The electrical post was a bit far at my site and I'm glad I had an extension. The cell reception on pretty much all major networks is non existent. You are 10-15 minute drive from civilization. The wifi worked minimally when you were close to the central bath house. If you need internet, you would need Starlink here. My friend was able to get some local tv stations with a powered antenna. Overall, I'd stay here again with the pros and cons I've already mentioned above.

Garbage overflow and smelly. Tiny tyrant of a ranger harassing guests for parking. Bathrooms and showers filthy. The sites were large, but no enforcement of loud guests and people walking across sites. Just not a well organized park. We have camped for 25 years and I've never left a negative review. Do not stay here.

We had a great site with walking distance to the beach. Lots of kids on bikes, scooters, and other wheeled toys. Beach is gorgeous with no rocks, not broken shells. It 8s quite shallow for a ways out (less than waist deep. Park Rangers walked and drove by our site frequently. My dogs did not bother anyone, and they were not always on a 6-foot leash. But they were contained in my site. I did not have the same poor experience with the ranger(s) as a couple posted. Nice campground, accommodates tents and RVs. No full hookup but has water and 30amp electric. Paved roads but grass or sandy sites. Handicap sites have a paved pad. Zero cell service. Has wi-fi but dies not work well when everyone saturates it. I would return.

We were harassed by the older park ranger the entire week we camped. The beach was very nice and they had a nice little supply of life jackets for campers to use. Other than that, the older ranger that knit picked everything all week was enough to ensure we won’t be returning. There was also zero phone service at all so if you work while you camp this won’t be a good place for you.
